What happened?!

The app was working great! Now it has a system error when trying to select a time frame of delivery. Is it due for an upgrade? The convenience of delivery goes out the window when the convenience or ordering is no longer possible.

New issues

When a customer changes delivery time window, ex change delivery time from 2-3pm to 12-1pm, an e-mail needs to be sent to customer confirming that the delivery time window has been changed. When a customer has additional instructions/information to give to delivery person once order has been placed, customer should be able to go back into the order & add the additional information/instruction. When a customer’s credit card has been approved, the pickup & delivery app says order is completed even though the grocery order has not been delivered to the customer which is extremely confusing to the customer. What it should say is that customer’s credit card has been approved, however, order is still pending because the grocery order has not been delivered to customer yet.

Today I did a price comparison...

Today, I decided to go to the grocery store myself instead of using the app. Once home, I plugged in every item from my receipt. Granted, it’s Super Bowl Sunday so there are lots of good deals but should you order online you may not receive as much of a discount, or no discount at all. For instance: Fritos are on sale on the app today for $2.99/ea. They were on sale in-store for $2.99 unless you bought 5 or more, then they were $1.99 a bag. Seeing as how I’d already decided on a quantity of 3 (Which would have been about $9 Total) I was able to buy two more bags for about $1 more. In-Store Total: $125.07 App with Free Delivery: $144.57 App with 1-HR delivery window: $157.52 If I’d used the Free Delivery option, I saved about $25. (Meat weights actually added to my in-store total as I still bought meats at sale price just in a heartier portion) Had I chosen the one hour window option I would have nearly spent $40 more than just going to the store myself. I will say this app is worth it if you’re in a rush and just need a chore cut from your day or if you live sever flights up and need heavy items such as cases of water. I will continue to use the app if either of those situations occur for me but see it much more valuable going into it store myself. In the past, I believe I have over 40 deliveries to date- they have been late only twice and called to inform me that they would be. I was also given the option to reschedule the same order for the very next morning with assurance mine would be the very first delivered. I opted for this once and, just as promised, they arrived 5 minutes ahead of schedule the next morning. Twice they have had to reschedule due to not having enough drivers. This has always been a day before a holiday (Valentines and Thanksgiving in this case) When they’ve had to do this, they’ve always called to let me know the issue and also credited me $15-$25 each time for the inconvenience. All-in-all, if you don’t mind the extra mark-up and/or you’re running short on time, this would be a good app for you. Just be sure to familiarize yourself with the “Substitutions” section and text bar. They do really well of subbing “out-of-stocks” if you’ll just let them know what your second choice might be. Also, pay attention to the promo codes and special offers provided in the app. I have experienced technical errors on occasion when trying to put in these codes, but when they work- they are very helpful. Delivery drivers have always been very pleasant and are not allowed to take, nor do they expect, a tip. The call center... You will be on hold about 20 minutes every time you call. They are very nice and try their best to be helpful. Keep in mind they cannot control whether or not your order has been handled or not. They can only let you know whether or not been placed on the delivery truck and try to get feedback from the driver while you wait on hold. If the driver is driving- they cannot answer their phones for safety reasons so usually they have you call them back, wait on hold again- IF the order hasn’t shown up or you haven’t received a call from your driver. This can all be super frustrating but rarely ever happens in my experience.

Driver never showed up

Scheduled a delivery, 6-8 pm window. Driver never showed up and I was still charged. I have to file for a charge back with my credit card company to get my money back. Avoid.

Downgraded experience for blind voiceover users

Updates have made the app clunkier; you shouldd just be able to double tap on the item of interest to get all the details, instead of having to flick through all of the elements in order to get to the next item. I think this contributes to the ad all button up hearing way too soon before you have actually gone through all of the choices. Also, can no longer get a running cart total; half to guess or do the math to know if I have reached the minimum order.
