I start my day with Providence Journal. Later when I have time I look at my local California papers. I enjoy Mandy Patinken’s writing. I liked his piece this week on the Olneyville wiener restaurant.?

I really like the way the app shows the actual paper. It is reminiscent of actually reading a paper newspaper. Even better, it pulls together the pieces of the articles.

Historically ProJo has had a horrible online presence, starting with a frustratingly difficult process for maintaining account authorization and access across platforms (phone, tablet, laptop). Now much better, e-edition is very smooth. If only the content were better. The sports page is literally yesterday’s news.

I give up. After hoping this app would improve, it keeps getting worse. Functionally, it stinks. The news coverage stinks too. It is a sad excuse for a “local” newspaper, think a whitewashed version of USA Today trying to go home town. It is sad that a once venerable newspaper has sunk to such a low. I do not work for the competition, just a long term paper and app subscriber that is no longer and will never be either again.

Why is your app scraping my clipboard each time I enter it? What are you doing with that data? Do you have a user privacy standard?

Enjoy local/state/investment/comics and editorial..although opinion letters are sometimes so uninformed as to need fact checking to avoid spread of disinformation.

Love this app, because it gives me the actual paper, just as I would see it if I purchased a hard copy. The app gives me the option to read an article as I would if paper was in my hand, or use the option to click on article and read the whole thing, in one place, without having to continue on another page. It’s easy to navigate and has an option to enlarge an article for easier reading.

This has been particularly helpful during hands-off COVID. Also a must for travel away from RI. Easy to adjust & read
