The app won’t even run on my device anymore. It’s stuck on the loading page and it never goes away.

Connection is extremely unreliable and disconnects all the time, the worst part is that you don’t get a notification when it disconnects so you think you’re protected but in fact all the apps and trackers know your real IP address. If you use the Privacy Pro app to monitor your device and block trackers, you can’t use ProtonVPN’s Kill Switch feature or use any connection protocols other than IKEv2. Don’t use ProtonVPN if you are a whistleblower or a human right activist or if your safety depends on a VPN’s reliability.

This VPN is flawed. It stops working every few hours and fail to connect. I’m a plus member and it is disappointing for a good company to create such an unreliable app

I have run into some minor issues in recent updates but I figured out a major issue which seems to have fixed a major problem that seems to have some glitches. My super shady internet provider had added two tracking servers to my DNS list. I set my DNS to manual, deleted the two tracking server and add two DNS servers located outside of the U.S. Unlike other VPN services ProtonVPN constantly update’s there App both for security issues and to add new features like NetShield.

Update (Jan 14, '22): With the prompt release of Version 3.0.1, the issue of connecting has been resolved. I have increased the rating from 3 stars to 5. Thank you for being proactive, Proton Team! ~Visionary user ---- The latest version 3.0.0 seems to have trouble connecting to any (plus) server. I did not have a problem until downloading the most recent update.

ProtonVPN is a good service. The iOS app, while stable, has a few things missing. Plus subscription unlocks region-locked content as advertised, NetShield works as expected. Improvements I’d like to see: sometimes on reconnect after unlocking the app will connect you to your default profile instead of the last used profile. Servers in mainland China would be nice. Split tunneling would be incredibly useful. Finally, something that would allow me to have the VPN always enabled would be a widget that, beyond being a “quick connect” button, allows you to add it to the Home Screen and allows you to quick swap NetShield settings and saved profiles.

It’s a great app but could use more state ip’s such as MA, PA, NC, SC, CT, etc or a way to add ip’s or proxies
