The app is ok, could be better. Commenting on other reviews. The app can control each shade position independently. It is annoying that the sunset feature does not work. The glitches are helped a lot by placing the repeaters in good locations. It would be nice if you could change the order of the scenes on the scenes page. Overall ok, nothing to rave about.

It works, but barely. Crashes sometimes and is a bit weird to use. The good news is that powered shades are so freaking cool that it's worth it. I wish HD would spend a little cash to have this app reworked.

It's not intuitive and rarely works. Hunter Douglas has not earned the premium they charge for their products.

They finally fix the sunrise and sunset with there update. I love the idea and the concept, its a great app. If they can also make it when your away to control it would even make it better.

Update 10/26/14: Downgraded to 2 stars. Great when it works but really glitchy and buggy. Often super slow to respond - like 2 minutes later the blinds will change. Frustrating that a system we paid well over twice the competitors prices for works so poorly. Second guessing our decision to go with Hunter Douglas. (The have a monopoly on some features and sadly abuse that) Initial review: Love that I can control my shades via my phone!! I wish the scenes could have different shades at different positions. I've played around with it and all I've been able to do is isolate the desired shades and set them all to one position. But let's say I'd like 3 different shades at 3 different positions then I have to create separate scene buttons. At least I can stack scenes and use several scenes at once to create a master scene. But it would be awesome to do it all at once! Occasionally the app freezes up but overall I'm really happy with this.

I have an iPhone and a kindle running the hd shades app. This one doesn't work and the kindle app works perfectly. The iOS app acts as if I am connecting for the first time...every time.

This app works occasionally at best. When it operates them at all it doesn't work well. Some shades go up, others don't move, some shades go halfway and stop. If you're going to sell a product make sure it is tested before you put it on the market. It was expensive to buy 13 sunshades that won't go up or down unless you push the override button at the property. We were sold on the fact that we could use it from our second home remotely. That's not true.

We went with the wifi so we could program the shades to open and close on a schedule, but it doesn't work well. This am the side blinds opened on my bay window but the center window blind stayed closed. The remotes work reliably but don't count on using the app.

It cannot do what it claims. However my local Hunter Douglas dealer tells me that it's not finished. Can you spell vapor ware? Even though it doesn't live up to its billing, those few things it does do are pretty neat. We use it.

But it does work, occasionally. On those rare occasions, I squeal with delight and wonder. The rest of the time, I just want to strangle the lazy, half-hearted software and hardware engineers that tossed this together. If Tesla can make an app that controls the heat, charging and tracking of a car, why can't this overpriced system just raise and lower the blinds reliably?
