Now crashes when you try to open the app.

The Mad Professor

Without this app, fine tuning equalizer settings, etc. is almost impossible. Now that the app crashes immediately, it’s about as worthless as the receiver it should be controlling.

Amazing

I don’t understand all the bad reviews. It seems like they didn’t take the time to go through the demo and are confused. The features and controls are great. I love that I could add pictures of my own living room and porch to describe different zones on the receiver. This is a must have for any Pioneer receiver owners.

Pioneer Control App

It would be really nice and convenient if your app worked on my IPhone and Android Tablet. Seeing how the TV,Sonos Cable Box and every other device has a app that works. And now I have pick up my Pioneer Remote! The last two versions have started to lock up and stall, not open and fail to connect to my receiver. What up! Pioneer/Onkyo

Crashes immediately after opening, 6/8/20

6/16/20. Latest update fixed the crashing issue when opening the Pioneer Remote app in a home with Sonos speakers. I can now use the Pioneer Remote app without unplugging my Sonos speakers from the wall. Thanks for addressing the interference btw the two systems. 3 stars because the equalizer savings are not saved when powering off a Pioneer Elite VSX-LX504. 6/9/20: app crashes because of Sonos system. If i unplug the Sonos speaker, the Pioneer remote app will immediately start working and stop crashing. If i plug the Sonos speaker back into the wall, the Pioneer app will crash 100% of the time. It doesn’t matter if you set up Sonos S1 or S2. Both Sonos systems S1 and S2 cause this app to crash repeatedly on my iPhone X, iPad, etc. I do NOT have a Sonos Connect and there are no Sonos products connected to the Pioneer receiver. I only have a Sonos One speaker, Gen 2. I’ve tried two separate Sonos Gen 2 speakers, deleted all Sonos apps, reset everything, and rebuilt the Sonos system. It still causes the Pioneer remote app to crash 100% of the time. 1 star. Unusable on 6/9/20. As of June 8, 2020, the app crashes immediately over and over again to the IPhone home screen when i try to open it. It crashes on two different iPhone X’s and iPad. All have the latest IOS. The Receiver has the latest firmware. The app will not start. I deleted the Pioneer app and reinstalled it. Still crashes over and over again. I restarted the phone. Switched the phone from 2.4 to 5 GHz on WiFi. Nothing helped. **Sonos system causes the crashes** 1 star. Unusable on 6/8/20.

Frequently freezes

clarrix

The app is good when it works but the constant freezing is driving me nuts! Whenever i go to the listening mode/tone screen and go back to previous screen, the app freezes. They need better qa testing on these apps! Updated: freezing has been fixed! Thanks! Another issue: EQ change doesn’t get saved!

What happened???

Freedom55

Dear developers, I have a Pioneer SCLX-701 receiver. I have it set up to a surround sound room with a tv via speaker wires. I also have it connected to two other rooms for zone 2 and zone 3 via speaker wires for music. Now I give this a one star because it does not work anymore with this app for music. I say anymore because it was working perfectly up until about 4 days ago. If I use any of the Hdmi connections on the tv the receiver works wonderfully. I use my wifi to play my music on my phone to zone 2 and 3 speakers via this app. The receiver is set up to my WiFi. Within the app I would go to what zone I wanted, touch the center to bring up the inputs, select net, then AirPlay. I then open up my iTunes pick a song and play, then select the AirPlay option select my receiver and my music would work and it sounded amazing!!! However now it doesn’t work at all for my music. I was actually in mid song and just shut off and I wasn’t even with my phone. I have tried to shut it all off and go through turning it on again, it did not work. I have tried to reset my internet router, it did not work. I have deleted the app and redownloaded it, it did not work. I have redone the initial setup on my receiver to renter the WiFi information, it did not work. I shut off my phone and restarted it, it did not work. I even tried other input methods from the app to include Bluetooth when I was close to the receiver, it said connecting but never did. I tried using chrome cast input, but my music still will not play. I have had this problem one other time, and tried everything, what worked last time was a software update for my receiver. I downloaded the update installed it on my receiver, and it went back to working again. I have checked for another receiver update, it said it was up to date. I have a stand alone Bluetooth speaker that I can connect to my phone not using this app and it works perfectly. I have used my internet in the same room as the receiver on another device and it works perfectly. I’m saying all of this because my connections work just not with this app. I don’t know what happened, but prior to this problem I loved this app, and used it everyday. Please if you have any solutions for me please let me know. If you can update the app to fix this problem I would really appreciate it. Thank you for your time, Jon Update: I reset my receiver via hard reset and everything works great, thank you!

Zone control doesn't work

Powerzlu

Toggling "zone 2" does nothing. Also can't adjust zone 2 volume from the app which would be incredibly useful when you're physically in zone 2 where the remote doesn't reach. Invest a little more in this app please.

An incomplete and user unfriendly app

alimoheet

This app is not complete and in many areas it is not user friendly. For example, there is no way to turn zone2 on or off and it cannot control the volume zone2. The volume handler is hard to work with and it is not mobile friendly. The equalizer does not memorize last selection. Every time you turn your device on you have to load your saved one. And it only memorizes 1 setup for equalizer. To summarize, Pioneer should be embarrassed to even introduce such an unprofessional app.

Stopped entirely with iOS14

BmuddaKfukinB

This app was... buggy, slow and featureless at best. But, it worked... before the new iOS. Now, it can’t find my VSX-933 or 503 even when searching for the IP. Terrible. If you have an old i-anything, keep it so you can keep using your moderately expensive home theater/whole home music. Fix it please, all your apps are rated 2 or below, doesn’t anyone give a crude anymore?
