I've been using Penzu to journal in my free time since 2011. Since then, I've migrated from the online version to the app and have found great ease in doing so. Having never used the pro version, I can only say great things about the free version. It has been very good to me throughout my time using it. Highly recommend it.
Perfect App for Journaling

I'm probably going on my second year of using this app. It has met my expectations consistently. It has it's own app lock function that prevents access to the app without a passcode even if your phone is unlocked. I have never had a problem with any loss of data or entries that I've faced before with other journaling apps. The ability to access the journal both on my app on my iPhone as well as online on a desktop or tablet has also been very beneficial and convenient. I do fully recommend this app as well as making the investment for the Pro subscription service.

I totally for got this app a long time ago, actually 6 years ago and it sent me an email saying I wrote something back then. To be able to look back and remember what I did back then and think about it now is mind blowing. Stupid stuff I did and crazy things, Things u forget. Makes you feel good. Reminds you that you had some good times and bad times in life.Love this app.

It's a good app. You can basically triple lock it. I finally have something I feel like I can keep private after my privacy has been unwelcomely invaded time and time again. I just wish there was more free options instead of just one free option, but all in all this better keep my thoughts private nice and tight.

I've used Penza for about two years now and it works great. I've heard of other journals that send you a writing prompt each day through text and your reply text is uploaded as an entry. I think that may be a good direction for Penza to go in.
Love it but...

I LOVEEEEE AND APPRECIATE PENZU SOOOO MUCH, but the app is lagging at times and scrolls randomly up. Desktop Version is great though and have been using that for years!
