I have had Penzu 5 years now. I have sober countless hours looking for the best app because let's be honest it's a long term decision. So simple to use. Never have had issues. Very affordable. Wish we copy pictues from the journal and put then other places from the phone.

I love being able to go between my computer and phone when I want to log something. It’s so seemless!

I deleted my diary by mistake...

...And customer service helped me, even though I was a free customer at the time. The diary miraculously reappeared unscathed. That’s who these guys are. Five stars.

Great app but needs urgent upgrade

Penzu is simple to use and quite secure as well. I started using it over 3 years ago. The interface is neat and very straightforward, especially the iPad and iPhone versions. It is a bit pricey though at $19 per year but it is worth every penny if you are keen and serious about journals. The above was my earlier comment some years back. However the developers have not updated the app for over 1 year! I upgraded to iOS 11 on iPhone 6 and now the login screen does not pop-up the password keyboard! I’m now locked out from accessing my journals on iPhone! Please help!!!

Lost all I have written during one year

I have used this app for one year. Needless to say I have a lot writing in it. One day I tried to open and it said my account expired without a single warning. It said "your account has expired please renew it". But how ? It didn't let me go back to my account to renew. I tried to call the company toll free number more than 5 times and hit a recording. No one returns my phone call nor answers my emails. It's quite stressful to lose all my hard work and frustrated at the impossibility to renew my account. So be prepared for and be aware of this happening to you.

I loved this app and would give it 5 stars if it did what it said it did by syncing across platforms. I spent the 20 bucks to upgrade and it won't sync. I keep getting a message that tech support has been notified and a fix is coming soon. That was MONTHS ago.

So I’ve been using this app for about a year and never really understood the pop-up when you log out that says “Wipe local storage?”. I’d always hit no and then tried to research what that meant to Penzu. No where on their support pages can you find this topic. Now I’m fairly technical and local storage usually means on your device, but the journal should be retrievable when you next log in. Apparently that is not the case!!! In a rush one day I hit yes to this pop-up by mistake....now my journal is gone :( There is no way to contact anyone because I do not have a Pro acct so I basically lost a year of entries and I’m not at all happy about it. Thinking I should just go back to pen and paper.

Free Version is Worthless

Don't bother with this app unless you plan to invest in one of their upgrade plans. I tried to use the free version, and it was a waste of time with lots of pop-up windows trying to get you to upgrade.
