Useless
never contributing again
The videos won’t load because they’re hell-bent on forcing you to watch an ad even though it’s publicly funded, even if you’re a subscriber, even if you’re a contributor, even if they can’t sell the ad time and it’s just an ad for PBS, you MUST WATCH AN AD even if it means it won’t load and you can’t get to the show you want to watch. Oh and it must be a current episode, there will be no catching up on old episodes or binge watching! Don’t bother!
Decent but HIDE THE STATUS DISPLAY

PBS programming is second to none. We donate monthly to have complete access. This app is glitchy but serves its purpose. It generally runs shows smoother than a browser on the iPad or laptop. Plus less ads. **************BUT******** We’ve been off for a while. When we came back we found that the status bar (WiFi symbol) clock and battery life display REMAIN ON SCREEN IN STARK WHITE LETTERS while watching full screen. (Touching the middle gets rid of the top and bottom bars but those other displays reappear as if we’d need to see my WiFi refreshing while watching Poldark. It drives me absolutely crazy. It’s not the IPAD pro I’m using. Other apps I have do full screen fine and hide those pesky displays. The app hides them on my iphone. PLEASE FIX THE BUG AND HIDE THE STATUS DISPLAY with iPad Pro iOS 11. I WILL go back to my laptop if I have to. Then this app gets 1 star from me.

Please make it so the audio will play while the app is in the background. There are so many videos I’d like to just listen to while doing other things.
No longer works with ChromeCast?

Sometime in the last 2 weeks or so, the PBS app has stopped working with my ChromeCast. I’ve tried several other apps and they all work fine, so it appears to be just this app. I’ve removed and reinstalled the app and I’ve tried it on another device with the same result. The error message says “Error casting to <my device>”. Any ideas?

The content? What can be said... It is possibly the last place in America to get quality content that’s far more substance than flash. But unfortunately the best content can’t save this app from it’s sorry and poor quality problem. As others have mentioned, it suffers from amateurish problems like a never ending spinning icon in the middle of the screen that won’t go away if you dare fast forward or rewind. It won’t remember your last position if you have to stop the video to resume later. The clock, wifi, and other status indicators at the top of the screen remain visible in full screen. But to me the most annoying part is that I can’t cast Passport Member programming to my Chromecast anymore. I used to be able to but not any more, and I don’t know what changed. I looked up the problem but their website only answer is to make sure you’re logged in with the email address with which you became a member. I am. It still doesn’t work. Can someone please FIX this before I decide to stop supporting PBS?

When casting a show to Chromecast from the iPhone app, reopening the app to pause or do anything seems to make the cast completely restart from the beginning Please fix this
Missing basic features
A frustrated observer
I wish that: - you could download shows to watch when wifi is weak or unavailable (like on an airplane) - the app would remember your place when you exited out for one reason or another—and remembered it cross platform. I was kicked out of Victoria for one reason or another four times in one episode and it always just started from the beginning -PBS still supported its XBox 360 app I am a new Passport member and this is disappointing. I use an iPhone 7S Plus
Cannot cast Passport programming

I try to cast Passport programming and all that displays on my iPad is an error has occurred casting to my TV. I cannot find anything on how to fix this issue. At this point I am so frustrated I am going to cancel my pledge. Beware of this glitch if you are thinking of paying for the Passport.
Impossible to use

It freezes all the time! Take hours to get through 15 mins of content. I can’t imagine it being any worse.
