Great Port with One Complaint

Arkham Inmate

Full disclosure: I am a super-fan of Pandemic the board game. It will take a super-special game to replace it as my favorite. Unfortunately, I do not get enough opportunities to get together with friends to play it. This app feeds my craving for the game well enough between actual tabletop plays. The add-ons to the experience (music tracks, three cube city “lightshows”, outbreak explosions) as well as the rules implementation are all top-notch. Having the characters from On the Brink is great, as they add a lot of depth to the game. I consider them as an ESSENTIAL add-on. The Virulent Strain challenge is certainly only for the truly seasoned, as it can be brutal sometimes. My main complaint with the app as it stands is its propensity to “rubberband” (a term most racing game players will recognize). For example I have had several games where my first turn was really good - either all three cube cities were treated or two out of three were treated. I could predict 8 out of 10 times that I would get an Epidemic on the first draw, especially when playing with 5 or 6 epidemics. Also, there has seemed to be an inordinate number of times when I got a highly improbable “Epidemic followed by an Outbreak” (due to having a lot of city cards in the Infection discard pile). I prefer not having artificial drama. If I am going to play Virulent Strain with 6 Epidemics, I don’t need the extra challenge of predicting the turn-by-turn “adjusted” randomness. That being said, I am looking forward to the following possible add-ons (in order of most important to me) in the future: 1) Lab challenge (with adjusted and new Role cards related to the challenge) 2) All remaining Roles from In the Lab and State of Emergency (minus Veterinarian and Colonel) 3) Remaining Event cards from In the Lab and State of Emergency 4) Mutation challenge 5) Emergency Events I am not including multiplayer because, for me, multiplayer happens in the real world. To be able to provide an effective communication system to come close to real life would require a major overhaul and possibly limit the game in other aspects.

So much potential...NOT WORTH THE PRICE

I love pandemic. Or I thought I did. At least the board game. This game is ridiculous on mobile. It’s impossible to cure, and even more impossible to win. When it starts even leaning towards your way you get hit with an epidemic. It definitely is configured and rigged. You can’t go more than 2 rounds without drawing an epidemic card. I WANT A REFUND. DEVELOPERS: YES YOU! Look at what people are saying in these comments and please make revisions. We are very disappointed in you.

Though, unrelenting challenge.

I am quite enjoying playing this game. Although I find it hard to cure all four diseases before one of the many methods of game over appears. I started out with a couple wins, otherwise I would think this game is impossible. I deducted one star for the number of times I’ve lost because I ran out of cards.

Could be better

If game isn’t over within like 20 turns you loose. Not very fun.

Like the Boardgame

If you love the board game, you will love this version. It plays like it but in half the time!

Doesn’t start

Bought this app a few days ago and was really excited to play. I’ve now tried to log in to play 3 times in the last few days and never gotten past the loading screen. I want a refund. This is a 10 dollar app and I can’t use it. Trying to use on an updated IPad pro

Much easier to teach others how to play

Patch kit

We can decided on a game night and pull out the tablet and have the game set up in seconds and run through a game teaching a new person to play and then play he board game or play on the tablet for an easy clean up.

Love this. So addicting!

The only change I would suggest is to add an option after Victory to continue to complete eradication. Is that possible? Otherwise, I’m addicted to playing this on my phone. Absolutely pleased that I found this version of the board game.

Good tutor for board game

The iPad game is great fun, and it is one way to practice for the board game version which is fun once you get all of the rules in your head.
