Video shooting on tripod

Dad for Two

I use this app for controlling my Lumix G7 for video shooting when it’s mounted on a tall (15 foot) tripod. The app works really well and allows remote start/stop and zooming. Functionality is really good and app works well. I’m subtracting one star because the WiFi connection can introduce a slight lag into the controls - but since the camera is 15 feet away, this is not surprising and doesn’t compromise the overall usefulness of the app. Good job Panasonic.

Pretty disappointing

Rudrabhima

Love the WiFi function and the ability to transfer photos directly to my phone. but it’s awfully unreliable and inconsistent. I’ve been unable to connect for the last week, via favorites, qr code or manual entry. Now I’m supposed to plug the SD card into my laptop to transfer?! Once you are connected, selecting each photo 1x1 to transfer is also very laborious. Why is there no “transfer all new photos” option? Manually selecting 100 photos at a time is miserable.

Outdated and ugly UI, dodgy connectivity

ewestby

When I switched from Canon to Panasonic a few months ago, I had no idea how bad Panasonic’s mobile app experience was. In all candor if I’d known, they might have lost a sale. The UI is hilariously outdated—there are times it’s not even clear what to do next. In addition, the wifi connection routinely cuts out during long file transfers, and it refuses to transfer certain kinds of movies without any explanation. A company Panasonic’s size can do much, much better.

Will not connect

paigemetcalf

At first I couldn’t figure out how to use this. But I finally figured it out and it’s pretty awesome. Just follow the steps perfectly and you’ll get it I kept running into connection issues but if you have good WiFi this app shouldn’t be an issue. I don’t have a computer so transferring photos through WiFi has changed my life! Love it. I think this app could use a little work to make it nicer but over all it’s a good app.

It was a good app

I have a Panasonic g7 and I edit off my phone. At first the app would allow me to transfer videos and photos . But now it just send pictures. Please fix this bug so I can change my rating

HC-VX981 won’t work with

Geltoob

Although it says it supports the HC-VX981 camcorder the app freezes almost immediately after connecting. The app is useless for this camcorder. Tested with iPhone X and iPad Air.

Terrible app. Almost pushes me to other brands

Jbadou

I find this app completely unusable. Any time I tried to use the app as a remote the app will say it's connecting to the camera and never connect. On the rare chance I can get it to connect if I let my phone lock or sometimes it's just random, it loses the connection and has to be restarted because it won't reconnect to the camera. If I had the choice I'd return the camera for another brand that is easier to use, this is ridiculous.

Dreadful

franzen

Surprising a big company like this couldn’t devote resources to develop a working app? ZS-200 unworkable.

App is improved But......

Ron Taube

I’ve had many problems with this app over the years And some have improved with what looks like an update. It connects much easier to my camera but after less than 5 minutes it loses the connection even though my iPhone is less than five feet from the camera. I had even set my iPhone to no sleep. This happened repeatedly and though I was able to reset the connection there was no solving this issue. When it works however it works. Photo and video taking and uploading photos to my phone work but this connection issue is going to limit my use of this app severely so I can’t give a strong recommendation unless. Panasonic has a work around for me.

Last update made the connection unstable

revwezlo

Since the last update the camera can’t maintain the connection unless I shut off cellular data. I hope they fix it because when it works it’s VERY nice.
