I was in desperate need of a second phone number with absolutely no desire to carry around 2 devices. I had another app (I won’t mention the name) for quite some time but it just did not live up to my expectations. I switched to OpenPhone after I called them (they actually answered!!!) and they agreed to port my old number over. That seamless process, their on-going willingness to work with me on questions, the attractive look and feel of the app and the overall user-friendly interface for calls and texts are what sold me. The fact that it was less expensive than my previous service was icing on the cake. There was an initial flurry of robocalls to my new number but OpenPhone has a slick way of blocking them built in to the call log and after a couple days, they stopped completely. There is also built in capability to distinguish OpenPhone calls from your personal line which I could not do with my previous service. I would highly recommend this app if you need a way to keep calls separated from your main personal line.
Good but not great

The app is good and works fine. I receive and make calls perfectly, as well as texts. I’m giving it 4 stars because it does not let you send group texts and it still does not have a web platform to use while in the computer. Just two things they could add! Definitely recommend for small businesses though!
Miss the simple layout and ability to permanently delete

When l initially downloaded this app it was perfect. After the updates realize you can no longer delete your calls or text messages. They are archived and as soon as someone texts you the whole thread shows back up. In my line of work that can be very confusing. I also miss the simple layout. Customer service is great though.

The new update is a total mess to this app. The message window isn’t well arranged like the old version, when someone send you send a new message you hardly find where it’s and all the messages mixed up with the old conversation in the same text window
Very cost effective phone system for your business

We switched from Vonage and despite loosing some functionality, the savings were very substantial. The reliability is at par with other VOIP providers and the app is simple but elegant; it has most of the features we need. We are happy campers.
The best virtual phone app

Easy to use app, no hidden cost, amazing support! And it does work great! You get real phone number working perfectly well for both text and calls for just $10. I tried pretty much all other available apps like this - awful experience. So I highly recommend this app.

Great story telling
Over the course of my career I’ve had numerous international postings. In the early days, calls to the US were expensive and usually required some sort of justification, even if just to hear the voice of a loved one. The mid-2000s change this and Skype answered a real need, but then overly corporatized. The modern era is covered with free or nearly free communications channels, FaceTime, WhatsApp, Messenger, Viber, Signal, the list goes on and on. Where open phone excels is that it allows a Voip connection to the US, backstopped to stable phone number, in my case one that was ported in. The service also allows users to send and receive txts, and app can accommodate up to 5 lines, with independently schedule service times and schedule based voicemails. Try the service, I like it and I think you will too.
