Horrible App

Horribly made app

Where are the cartoons

bk725

I haven’t been able to view the cartoons since the latest update. PLEASE FIX IT!

Older version was better

GoodDogSD

Like was said before in other reviews, the inability to return to an article right where one left off is annoying to say the least. I find myself not even starting to read the longer articles simply because if I leave I’m going to have a tough time finding where I left off. Also the current issue cartoon captions are impossibly small and hard to read.

Type size

pufhhyffgh

As I get older the size of typeface makes a difference. Just wishing words could be a bit larger so that I don’t need a straight light on the page. Love the magazine otherwise

Good, a little clunky.

ken2116

Great way to access the magazine while on the go. The app occasionally stops letting us download the latest issue, fixable but a bother. With the newest update if one reads part way into an article, swipes to another and returns to the first, it jumps to the head of the first article thus losing one’s place, a major bother for those who jump around or share with others. (I haven’t checked if there’s a way to avoid this). If one changes text size after reading part way into an article it jumps to another place, would be better if it stayed on or near the current page.

Missing Content

Spectator Fan

The app version omits some content (Contributors and Caption Contest, for example). The December 16 issue lacks the cartoons at the end. This app used to work well. Please fix it.

Long term reader

Okenoughnow

I’ve subscribed for over a half century. When too busy loved scanning jokes, love poetry, Nd the blog, In Depth political The Packer pieces a few years ago were seminal, To mix humor and deep thoughts is great.

Impossible to see the cartoons

Peter_in_Santa_Monica

Very hard to use.

No dark background?

YNOTatTheMovies

There is no dark background to read! The captions’ fonts also cannot be changed. And I can’t see what I am typing here either- it’s white on white!

Keeps my brain active

Dr.Remulak

I come back to the New Yorker every week to deepen my understanding of current events. Easy and relaxed layout.
