Not worth the money
noom is a con for cash

Easy to join, difficult to unsubscribe. Started as a free month trial, then went to automatic billing at $40 per month. Every time I tried to unsubscribe and stop billing, the “unavailable at this time” message popped up. Finally dropped Noom by going to Apple. Never got any money refunded. The only thing Noom helps reduce is your bank account.

Good App but Horrible Customer Service
vivapd

I was having a problem with the renewal and their customer service could not be bothered helping me. The problem is with the Apple communication to Noom. Their customer service just told me I needed to deal with Apple and it was not their problem. The program works great. Just hope you don’t have to deal with them

Horrible Food Tracker and Customer Support
Alex3775

The food tracker is inoperable. Any time I try to log a food that I’ve already logged on a previous meal the calories don’t load properly, if at all. You also don’t get the option to select number of servings. I contacted customer support and they gave me a canned response about some update effect a small number of foods. I tried explaining that it wasn’t a small number of foods, it was literally EVERY food that I’ve logged on previous days. To that they gave me another canned response and couldn’t tell me how long it would be before they fix it.

Meh
a nickname whatever

You might want to change the font color here. I can’t see what I’m typing

Biologist

For a scientist, this tends to work, probably because one’s personal weight-loss journey is evidence-based, involving the recording and visualizing of data. Helps to sustain interest.

Decent concept- terrible macro/nutrition tracking
clelyc

I generally agree with the principles of the app. The layout and reward system is also pretty good from a behavioristic standpoint. However the food logging is terrible and that is pretty much the foundation of the app. Foods are often wayyyy off in calories and macros even when you scan the barcode, and the process is too tedious to alter the nutrition of a specific food. On top of that, there also is no way to just manually add in your nutrition for a specific meal. Back to MyFitnessPal I go.

Amazing
luvbunny114

Ive been using Noom for about six months and it has literally changed my life. Sounds cheesy, but it’s true. However, there’s a big glitch right now that I’d love to have fixed! When I try to select the “Find Recipes” option, the app shuts down. It’s also not letting me open the meal logging portal, but that seems to just happen occasionally and resolves itself quickly. Please help!

It sounded like a good idea…
HollyDollyDoes

It sounded like a good idea, but save yourself the money. If they want to up their game, they need daily accountability partners. Otherwise you can get a diet plan online for free and ask a FB group and get as good advice. Just disappointed.

It’s working for me

I’ve been sticking to the calorie count and eating healthier. I’ve steadily lost weight. I feel that if you follow the plan it can work for anyone. Plus, I have never feel like I am sacrificing.

Bots and auto renew, no real support
C0lie

I subscribed (about $23/month) and tried Noom for several months. I was religious about it as I was determined to lose the weight (still am). I had mild success in the beginning, which was nice. The weekly check-in from my support “person” was nice and encouraging. But a month or so into it I plateaued then started gaining weight even though I was eating healthy, nutritious food and exercising. This was when I reached out to my support “person” for guidance. I put “person” in quotes because the responses I got were vague, held no valuable information and seemed like a canned response you’d get from a bot. I really tried with my support person, we went round and round in circles. I continued on for another month with no more success and then found Wondr (it was offered for free from my insurance company). Wondr doesn’t pretend to have live support but they do have hundreds of videos from actual doctors and nutritionists with very real, valuable information and support. Six months after giving up on and not using Noom, I was charged $180 for renewing for 8 months. I tried to cancel and get my money back but they refuse to reverse any charges. Moral of the story is Noom has no valuable information or support unless you enjoy canned responses from bots.
