Amazing game

I’m obsessed with this game. It is hands down my favorite iOS game ever. I love how all of the classes play so differently, the atmosphere of the game is great, it’s beautiful and challenging and rewarding. Just fabulous gameplay. I do have some minor quibbles. I’m mostly only putting them here for the devs to read, they don’t substantially impact the game, and you shouldn’t let them deter you if you want to give the game a try. First, there are tons of typos. ‘Their’ instead of ‘they’re,’ control spelled with two Ls, stuff like that. Second, when you beat the bosses, stories pop up, but you can only read half of them. If you want to know the story you have to go look the card up from the home page. I haven’t read most of them, which is too bad because the ones I have read are super cute and someone clearly put a lot of thought into them. Lastly, and I’m not sure if this is a mistake or not, the deck button is labeled with (I think) a Chinese character. It’s weird and it just kind of bugs me, I also wonder if it isn’t a bug. Great game! Thanks guys!

I will change this review to 5 starts when they fix the most recent change

In a recent update they broke the replayability of the game... Once you've beaten the game entirely you're left with only two options for each class: Easy mode and Hard mode. EASY MODE You get fewer blessings in an easy playthrough (meaning less potential for complex interactions), the available blessings are chosen from a pool of weaker and uninteresting ones, and the cards available are also less interesting than what you can get in hard mode. None of these are gamebreaking, easy mode is playable. It's just disappointing that although they succeeded in making it easy, they didn't even try to give you interesting tools to play with and balance the mode around that. Instead they just give you the cookie cutter options and once you've tried those out the mode loses its appeal. HARD MODE Although hard mode has always existed, they recently added several different stages of difficulty. As you progress these conditions are cumulative, so by the final playthrough of hard mode you have many different handicaps at once (enemies are stronger + you get less gold + you restore less health, etc). This is fine and it's very challenging and therefore rewarding to beat all 7 stages of hard mode on each class. Once you've done that though your only option in hard mode is to replay the final difficulty stage which is WAY too difficult to play through for fun and it doesn't allow for experimentation. One of the handicaps, for instance, limits your handsize to 3 which automatically renders certain deck archetypes unplayable. THE SOLUTION At the very least PLEASE let us pick which 'stage' of difficulty we want in hard mode once we've beaten all 7 stages for that class.

Server list error

Garrisonwolf

This error is ridiculous. I can’t log in on one device. They data doesn’t sync between devices and I can’t play the dlc I already bought. FIX THIS!!! This shouldn’t be an issue considering the thousands of apps that have no issue syncing data. I’ll only update this review when the server list errors and sync have been resolved.

Buggy

Gzrsbu

It’s an ok time waster but it keeps saying that I can’t log in to their servers so my adventures won’t save and it won’t let me do hard mode because it never registers when I complete a story

Please fixed the bug already

Alexomg

How can I buy the DLC in game? I think is a bug or something in the game in the beginning I can not lock in and it say “Lock-in Failure “ and so that why I can not buy the DLC in game. Please someone fix the bug I want play other characters too:(

Login problem has been fixed.

Piporono

Well, now I wish they can also fix the bug that prevents us from getting access to the DLC offline.

Couldn’t put down the game

Larry2646747

I purchased this game knowing it was an offline game, however once you buy the 3.99 package to get the 3 characters it doesn’t register that you bought it unless you are online! How stupid is that? I even bonded my Facebook to it and changed the cover of the book to the other one showing I purchased it and it won’t play when I have no signal! I want my money back, the game is amazing and I can’t enjoy the extension of the game unless I have signal( I’m on a aircraft carrier in the navy so I practically never get signal) please email me or contact me thank you

Great Concept, Okay Implementation, Poor Localization

iCarus丶

Pros: Fast-Paced Roguelike gameplay, ~40m per round, can be played over multiple sessions. Feels great when you pull off strong combos. Interesting Dark Fairytale story Large amount of deckbuilding strategies to pick from. Good replayability. Neutrals: NOT a Roguelite as advertised. The persistent upgrade tree is very minimal and can be fully unlocked after two playthroughs. Too easy for a roguelike game. If you're looking for Slay the Spire levels of difficulty, this game's Hard 7 (highest difficulty) cannot even be compared to StS's Ascension 0. No Permadeath. Wait, can you even call a game without Permadeath roguelike? Cons: Terrible localization. Translations are inconsistent and misleading. In fact, card descriptions are not internally consistent even when playing in Chinese (the game's original language) Very poor balance. Some cards/blessings are utterly gamebreaking (Ghost card for Magician, Confessions for Nun, Mana Expansion (mana card), Justice Trials (blessing), Vampire Codex (Pandora blessing)). Card draws are so powerful and consistent that there is no reason to build a thin deck on purpose. Very little thought and planning is needed to play most decks. No real Resource System. In most cases, you can play every single card you draw with very little strings attached. Conclusion: Fun game for a while, but hollow in content after just a few runs and is plagued by inconsistent translations that make the experience all the more frustrating.

Good game but...

Corp Exec Guy

...I got tired of trying to beat the big boss only to have him remain unavailable. So I quit playing it after many many games. But I like the gameplay.
