The app continually asks for login and after I sign in, I still can’t access articles. My parents subscribed to Natl Geo for years. I’m glad they never had this experience of subscribing to the app. Apparently I’m not the only one. So please make this work National Geographic!

I have been a subscriber of National Geographic since 1972 and enjoy the magazine and the iPad app used to even excel the magazine. Now it is useless.

Couldn’t have said it better. I really enjoy a white screen I tell ya. Where is my content I purchased ? When going to sit down and (finally having time read my”purchased material ”) it’s not there,no internet my a..!!!! Somebody tried to fix something that worked just fine. I wonder what kinda hoops I’ll have to jump through to be able to enjoy what I’ve paid for. Oh well.....! Another donation to Technology for the future I guess.

NG should fire their developers and start again. At least revert to the original app. NG inspires exploration to places that typically do not have internet not being able to read offline calls into question their sanity, or maybe they just don’t travel?.

It looks and navigates well- there should be a link and a way to directly search the archive. My biggest complaint is the fact that the videos in the articles never play- which kinda defeats the purpose of an enhanced digital copy.

I know the developers have said they’ll look at bringing back offline reading, but I want the original functionality back. I had downloaded all my issues in the hopes of finding time to play all the videos and use all the other interactive content that has since gone away. It’s like someone took my magazine collection to the dump, and I’ll never recover it. I regret putting off reading what I had. I cancelled my automatic renewal. Please make me reconsider. Response: My point isn’t only to bring downloads back. It’s to bring back the interactivity. Reading web pages offline isn’t the magazine experience. I haven’t seen any responses to that.

I often referenced this app with friends as an archetype for a digital experience that had truly transformed print media. I loved the interactive nature, visual impact, and the ability to travel offline with content. This has now been destroyed. I hope that more competent minds will govern the next release. Shame on you.

If I want to read articles individually then I’ll search it online... Im a student and I dont have a lot of time to read a magazine while in the academic year, but I used to love when I read the magazine in the plane... You removed this feature... I want a paperless magazine not a worst version of your webpage...

Well looks like NG decided to take a perfectly good product, and destroy it. At one point it was one of the greatest apps in the App Store catalogue. You could easily download and read an entire edition of the magazine verbatim on your device. It was awesome! Somebody really screwed the pooch here.
