Dark theme option please

Needs a “dark theme” option. Sometimes when I view the “photos of the week,” the white background is too bright and hurts my eyes so I can’t look at the photos for very long.

Just an update from my review in January 2019 around the time when the NG Magazine app changed to not allowing you to read the entire magazine not just for the download option but also being able to read the entire magazine with added features such as video and sound. Well, now it’s August 2019 and the “new” app is still terrible. Heck, I’d even pay more per year for my subscription if NG offered the former app to read and download the entire magazine. Please, I beg, bring back the delight, charm and content of the former apps. Please...

The app is completely a waste of time. It posts itself as ‘free’ with ‘in app purchases’ but when you load it there is nothing you can do until you ‘subscribe’ and pay them. Nothing! You can buy downloads of magazines but you cannot even get links to stories. If I could have seen what the company offers in their app? Maybe. I subscribed for 13 years when I was younger, buying the hard cases and saving all those years for the kids to refer to in school. Now it simply resembles a publishers clearing house ad with a dignified cover and no ‘free’ stuff that isn’t.

I love to read the National Geographic Magazine. But wide screen view is a bit uncompotable to me. Vertical screen view mod on ipad was available but not now.
No portrait mode

No complaints against the magazine itself but the app could use some updates. While using on an iPad, the screen stays in landscape mode which is not how I read on a tablet. It would be nice to have the option geared towards personal preference.

This app. Works fine on my IPad. I can read an article almost anywhere. However I wish they would use the technology that allows you to increase the size of the text. My other programs I am able to do that and it makes it so much easier to read.

Between my wife and I, we have been a subscriber on and off for years and have been constantly disappointed in both the app AND the increasingly obvious politicizing of your content. We expected better. Instead what we have seen is more and more guesswork and out right lies stated as fact is in your magazine. You have become part of the problem instead of the solution in our country, employing writers and editors from an increasingly corrupt pool of academia hell bent on achieving their agenda by any means necessary, spouting half-truths and outright lies to the world as if you represent ALL academics. You do not. This will be my last check-in to see if honest change and a return to neutrality in your writings as I no longer believe you are capable of doing the right thing. Congratulations, you’ve alienated yet another reader. Such a shame. Goodbye and good riddance.
