I teach middle school and am looking for different apps to support the development of my kids' math skills. I was excited when I first saw this app, then I bought it. The graphics are nice, the sound it ok, the game is totally lacking. In fact the 18 ounce fruit took 20 ounces of weight for the program to say the answer was right. If you can't get the weight right in a weight game I don't see the value of buying the app.....except that they have a full website of them. So far I will make sure I avoid this company. I sent them an email directly....maybe they will change my mind. In the meantime don't waste your money!
In the screen shot, it is implied that mode three allows you to place both fruit and weights on the same side of the scale. But it does not let you do this in the game. I bought this hoping it would serve as a good balance scale for teaching basic equation modeling. But until an update is made that allows you to place both fruit (or some object of unknown mass) and weights on the same side of the scale, it cannot be used for this purpose.
