Excellent free-style music capture

JCLAY-GA

Driving down the midnight road, tired long day, humming a new tune. No paper, no pen, lots of inspiration - I reach for my iPhone, open Music Memo and capture that inspiration for reflection at another time.

Cool

Great program, u make the guitar part it programs the drums and bass for u Great for rock I would like to have it work with GarageBand And have like its tracks so after u can rerecord ur track with the backup sound and maybe a tempo wood click to start it out if u know the tempo.

Useful, could be great!

Super useful, could use a second track (or four) before going to garageband, audiobus support so you can use amplitube, and landscape display for when ipad is sitting in a dock. Those features will earn it two more stars!

Creatively Delicious

I adore this app. It allows me to place music into record spoken word. The only reason I am giving this app 4 stars is that there are limited sharing options and no Bluetooth support. I would love to be able to share my spoken word music memos to Facebook and Twitter without utilizing a 3rd party work around. I would pay for that ability. I do not want an annoying Soundcloud account with their dreadful advertising model in order to post to social media.

Doesn't save recordings

I've been happy with this app up until recently. I recorded a song idea and when I tried to listen back to it another day, it wouldn't play back. When I open up the song idea to see the chart, all it shows are the chords but no sound wave. When I click play, nothing happens. I've closed and reopened the app as well as restarted my iPad, but no luck. It is very crucial that a musician's song ideas are properly saved. I'm extremely frustrated that I can't revisit a song idea because of this flaw in the app. I don't think I will be using this app again. I don't ever want to risk this happening again. Please be aware of this flaw, you never know if you're going to lose a good idea!

Brilliant, but fundamentally flawed

xchrisxtopher

Let me preface with that I think Music Memos is a brilliant app. Yesterday I couldn't possible have given it anything but five stars. However, today I wanted to listen to the riff I recorded in Music Memos. The chord chart pops up, it remembers that I enabled drums to perform with the recording – however – it does not remember the actual audio I recorded. Not remembering the actual recording means that this app is flawed at a fundamental level, the very reason why someone wants to download it. Apple, fix this bug and I'll happily give it five stars!

Import!!!!

Drowning in Ads

It's needs to let me import old audio tracks from other apps so I don't have to live record everything. Needs a button for me to select if I want a drum intro. How frustrating to finish a song to find out that the drums are a bar off because it played an intro I don't need. Then cues are off throughout the song. And nope, can use the series to fix it because if go further than 7/8 it snaps back to the original zero point. Simple fix to save us a massive headache. Let us choose intro or not. Let us go beyond one bar when moving the audio in drum settings. Do the makers even use this app???

Nearly Perfect

After several months of using Music Memos, I have to say that I love it. If it were to be removed from the app store, it would be a sad day for me. The app has been wonderful for getting down quick lyrical and melodic ideas on the spot—and being able to export to GarageBand has been a major blessing. My only problem with Music Memos is that it does not play audio over Bluetooth. This is a major area to drop the ball in when a majority of persons use Bluetooth speakers and even headphones these days. Fix the Bluetooth, and you'll get your fifth star from me.

Spurs the Creative Process

Terrific app that fills in the gap between song idea and demo. The chord recognition is exceptionally accurate, in most cases, and the computer-generated instrumentation helps artists test their ideas with a small ensemble. One of the best apps I have ever used.

Great app but...

Dark Patar

I love the idea of this app, the backing tracks the tuner the recording everything is amazing dictating what chords I'm playing but the catch is, is that I can't share my ideas I'm having a horrible time with that and would just love to get my music out, Apple please help me?
