Great app with lots of potential

Whatever.569

I really like this app and the quality is not bad considering the microphone is he best on an iPad. I wish the trim function worked to trim sections I don't want instead of trying to trim what I'm keeping. I find I have mess up section in the middle of a recording that I would Ike to just isolate and delete.

Not bad

terminaltechniques

All well and good but don't make an audio app that shuts off when your screens off. Tuner is wack, cord recognition is spotty,Other than that well done.

love this app! does things most cannot (tempo mapping) but alas it's frozen and i don't dare delete and re-download in fear lose my songs! please send update

Psyched that this exists

Love that this analyzes the notes I play, separates things in bars, makes it easy to crop, and allows me to tag songs. I've been using Voice Memos for my songs for so long, and they just end up trapped there. Thanks for making this, Apple!

Brilliant-

An app that is beyond anything, any little bugs are minor unless related to reliability. This app is purely brilliant. Musical idea sketchpad with only what is needed at each point in the recording process. The drums and bass auto accompaniment and auto time signature aren't perfect but employ a veritable and surprisingly adept AI. I have never written an app rating and may never again. As a composer wanting to be uncluttered, it's reliable and useful and exports to GB easily. Used with a iPhone, iTrack mic pre's, and a few nice mic's this makes great recordings and is so intuitive.

Works pretty good

It's a nightmare trying to send files anywhere and it can be frustratingly slow, but it does work for recording ideas on the fly.

Great idea, but bugs make it nearly unusable

I really wanted to like this app due to its simple and elegant interface and good sound quality, however, there are too many unacceptable bugs to make it reliable for a working musician. I use this app in both an iPhone and iPad, both last generation and the experience is consistent. I have also been using the app since its inception and no updates have addressed the issues. Firstly, yes, it takes the app 5-10 seconds just to load the waveform image, and you have to wait until that happens to listen back. The longer you record, the longer it takes for this to happen. If you delete and re-record more than 2 or 3 times in a row, the app will either freeze or stop deleting and recording anything new. It appears to delete and record successfully, but when you play it back, it continues to show and play the last take. Also, it will sometimes stop audio capture (or playback, not sure which one) mid take, despite showing a waveform. I find myself having to restart the app, but I usually just stop using after a while to stop wasting time. I have deleted and re-downloaded the app several times. If you need a recording app for practicing where deleting and retaking is a must, this app is simply unusable. It is clear Apple has not allocated enough resources to properly test and debug it.

I wish it worked

This app is super buggy. I open it one day and it works fine and then the next day a song will repeat a 3sec portion no matter what I do. Very frustrating. The chord identifier is like google translate that it barely works. Apple needs to step up their game. Voice memos works better than this.

Could be better

It is incredibly hard to tap to start ratings period this goes against well-defined you are principles that demand that interactive elements be at least a fingertip and size (width & height, though width is fine here it's just the height that is an issue). Usually when I try to bring up the rating stars after recording, I end up bringing up the whole edit panel for that track. Trim should not snap to what it thinks are certain blocks of music. It should let me snap it freestyle because there is an undefined amount of silence between when I press record to the moment I start playing music, and if I want to loop it, it sounds weird when I trim it, and itsounds weird when I don't trim it.
