As is traditional in African original films, Brightness follows a mythological story, unique and human. While not in the tradition of western myth, African stories reveal a unique universal and innocent truth about human endeavors, completions, ethics and revenge, that speak truly to a very large audience. The first film of the sort I saw and recommend is Hyenas. It is a bit more Modern and definite revenge ,with a strong woman character. Wonderful films.

Being an individual in love with fantasy and science fiction, I was on board with the premiss of a literal siren killing land dwellers (if even unintentionally) based purely on her own savage nature. Boy was I wrong, and pleasantly so!

I love this app I have it on my phone, iPad, and tv. The handpicked films are always something fresh and not overdone which is nice considering I’ve studied a lot of films. And on the plus side it’s free for film students! I totally recommend this app if you want to expand your repertoire.
