March 4th, 2018 : just got this app and it doesn’t work at all. Nothing opens. No real support. I want my money back.

This started when I updated to 5. On my phone, I’m losing information stored in comments. I have t found an exact pattern in every case but it’s happening. One example: I opened a file, went into the comments of a branch and was reading it. A Slack notification popped up on my phone. I clicked over to read it. When I returned, the information was gone! I was able to shake-to-undo and got they note back. I didn’t have this problem in the previous version. I’m syncing with iCloud and have the desktop app. I haven’t lost data on the desktop. What am I doing wrong? 5 stars otherwise!! UPDATE: The developers are very responsive. I haven’t been able to reproduce the data loss issue and neither have they. I’m hoping this to 5 stars. I love the app and having both the desktop and phone is essential for me. It’s expensive but I don’t mind paying to support well designed applications.

Freezes and loses my work

I just spent about an hour working on a pretty detailed map on my iPad Pro. Tried to close the map to work on another and the app was frozen solid. I did a force close (sweep it off the screen to close), came back and over half of the nodes I had added were gone! I can’t recommend an app that does that.

I rarely write reviews, but the number of hours I’ve sunk into this app makes it feel almost like an obligation. MindNode is both one of the most useful and best-designed apps I have on my phone. The iOS interface is extremely thoughtful. You can tell that the developers of this app use it all the time, such is the attention to detail. I was skeptical that mind mapping could be done well on iOS, or away from your computer at large. I obviously haven’t thought through the problem as deeply as IdeasOnCanvas has. I’m really looking forward to recommending this app to friends, especially now that there’s a free option that they can try out. Lastly, I have to give huge props to IdeasOnCanvas for finding a payment scheme that works for them, without going to a subscription model. It makes this app 1000x easier to recommend to new folks. I’ll keep supporting these guys however I can. Seriously, keep up the great work! I’ll be over here mapping my brain out.

Everything is great. Well, as long as you love Helvetica or you can learn to love Helvetica, because if you use both Mac and IOS versions, you WILL succumb or give up. It. Will. Wear. You. Down. I never allow myself to look at font choices anymore. I, personally, hate Helvetica, but I am using self-induced conversion therapy to embrace it and see it as the only font that matters so I can use Mind Node. Other than that, it is great. If you already live the font, you will have no complaints at all.

It was already great. Update makes it amazing. Just buy it already.

I’ve used MindNode for a long time. I didn’t think it could be improved. And now they have. This app sets a high standard for file management, sharing, interface, usability and power. I wish really large companies like Omni and Readdle would pay attention to the way these guys do things. Excellent. High kudos for the new payment system. Excellent. Smart. Thank you for not killing us with a subscription system. You’re keeping a loyal fan base. Just buy the app already, both for iOS and the Mac. This is easily the best in its class and a high standard for the App Store in general. Fantastic software.

I bought MindNode 4 before. Do I need to pay again for mindnode 5? Or I just can restore from previous purchasing?

I like how the creators of MindNode carefully consider everything about this app. It’s obviously beautiful, but they also seem to add only features I want, time after time. Thanks for periodically releasing a new version I can pay for (and not resorting to a subscription). Hope it’s sustainable.

MindNode delivers again. My only wish is that they created a separate outlining app because I have a feeling it would rise above competition easily. Somebody invest in these guys/gals!
