I've been a seller on this app for little over a year. Buyers will purposely destroy the product in order for mercari to approve the return request. Example one, I sold new with tags lululemon leggings and buyer requested return & mercari approved it without consulting me first. Received the package yesterday and my pants were meticulously sliced in half. That night I received a notification that they released her funds and I was left with severed pants. The buyer maliciously ruined my pants and mercari finds it acceptable. Their customer service is terribly flawed and they refuse to remedy the situation. I plan to warn everyone about this app. You're better off using a more reputable site like poshmark or Ebay.

There needs to be more options for shipping. $4 being the lowest turns buyers away and we often lose money to pay the shipping ourselves. Offer a $2 or $3 with USPS since that's what most items cost to ship. Nothing under 1 pound costs $4 to mail!! Other than that I love the app. Easy to use, referrals are a great way to get money to buy something you want. Customer service could use some sprucing up. Overall if you're looking to buy/sell without commission charges this is your best option!

I have been using the app for about a month now and the things that I've seen that need improvement is the quality of the photos and the amount of photos you can upload they should have at least 6 photos you can upload and your money should be available once the buyer receives the package and rates but with all that being said four stars for no fees!!!

I'd have to say out of all the selling apps this has to be my favorite! They don't take selling fees how great is that! it helps a lot for college students! when they start doing fees they will go downhill haha but other then that they are great. everyone wonders how they make money but i think it's how many people sign up! I had poshmark & eBay & vinted. mercari makes it easy to post your pictures. im glad they updated & made a cancel button! I think it's good keep it how it is don't change it! please they finally got the shipping in order! :) another thing is it takes a week to get your money, only bad thing.

They initially took down my listing for copyright, but I an the copyright owner. It was resolved in about 6 hours though.

I am a seller And buyer with Mercari who has 164 listings ? Also, in the 131 transactions I've participated in I have 131 'Great' ratings (* every transaction is rated by Both parties 'Great', 'Good', or 'Poor') ! Mercari has consistently been awesome for me! I have a small child and I sell the clothes etc that he can no longer fit or use, simply choosing to keep the profits on my Mercari account, to then buy the clothes, shoes, or other items that he needs for the upcoming season. It essentially feels as if I get his new items for free bc I never have to use the money out of my pocket! Furthermore, one of the best parts in selling is they keep 0% of your profit for using the site!! Also, the items I purchase aren't always used.. Over half the time I buy name brand items, significantly discounted, that still have tags on them! I have done this last summer, 1 school year including snow wear, and currently just finished purchasing his wardrobe for the upcoming summer! And all without reaching in my pocket for one dime! Now, you can't buy from that many different people over the U.S. without running into someone describing a listing incorrectly, or sending the wrong size etc. But, the great thing about Mercari is that as long as you follow their simple guidelines and time frames for returns you'll be able to return the item receiving a full refund! I have had to make 4 returns with them in the past 2 years and Every single time, I followed their instructions and was promptly refunded. Their customer service has gotten so much faster in responding over the past couple years as well! But, even before it wasn't horrible. I honestly believe that there is a simple explanation for why the people who have negative things to say about this app had their negative experience. I think they simply didn't read/follow the rules, etiquette, and guidelines for using Mercari. The best advice I can give to new users is to take a moment to read the guidelines, rules, and FAQ's. And if you have even the smallest question skim through them again and you'll usually find the answer. I still go back through them from time to time when I have a question! Mercari is consistently updating their site as well and making improvements! They also encourage users to send in any suggestions that would make the site easier to use! Lastly, it's so much fun to check the site daily bc more often than not they're running contests! For instance, they're currently running a Spring Promotion where all you have to do is tap a button once a day to see if you've won! In this case you can win up to $100 in Mercari credits! And, they will any time give you and the new user $2 if you invite a friend to try the app! I honestly can't find anything negative to say about this site ??

Worst ever! No customer service just automated replies. No seller protection!! I won't go into my drama with them, but wish I had heeded all the negative reviews online before I decided to sell. Learned my lesson the hard way. Do not sell on this site!!
