Bad app for bad fast food

Mcdonalds is overpriced now. Nuff said. The deals you get arent even that great.
Never connects

It worked the very first time I downloaded this, but now it won't connect. Ever! How am I supposed to use this app if it won't let me see anything aside from that stupid spinning-connecting thing that won't go away! Not helpful to my iPhone, and no, I won't waste my time upgrading MY phone for this to work.

Using the app

I thought I would share my experience using the app. I have an iPhone 5s and I just upgraded to iOS 10. I typically go to McDonalds to order coffee or a coffee drink. First, you can only use the app at McDonald stores that have cash registers set up to take the app promo codes. My guess is, if the McDonalds has the electronic menu boards, then they probably are set up to take the app promos, and if they have the older menu boards that are not electronic, then most likely you cannot use the phone app at that store. So after I order my coffee, and the cashier asks if that is all, I tell him/her that I’m going to use a promo. I use the McCafe drink promo - Buy 5 any size, get 1 any size free. I then hold my phone up with the promo code to the scanner and wait for it to go beep. After it beeps, then there will be a message on the cash register that says “Success” so you know it registered. If it says “Error” or anything other than “Success”, I point that out, so the cashier can redo her part (correctly), so I can scan and get the “Success” message. (Sometimes the cashier needs to call someone more experienced over to help her out.) After seeing the “Success” message, I then go ahead and pay. Typically the new stamp will show up on the app card in 2 or 3 minutes, but once it did take several hours, but then it did show up. The only time I had an issue 2 days in a row was when they changed the expiration date for the McCafe app card from June 30, 2016 to December 31, 2016. I then called the McDonalds customer service number at 800-244-6227, and reported it to them, and they resolved the issue in a couple of days and added the missing stamps to my app card. Just remember, if you do not get the “Success” message after scanning your promo code on your phone, you will not get credit on the app for that purchase. Hope this helps clarify how to use the app promos successfully.
