This app is amazing !
Belief it or Not
Yes this app is expensive but when you look at 100Mbits per second capture rate it is better then the 78Mbits I'm getting on my canon 5D m3. Granted with magic lantern I could do higher but this app is truly incredible and worth the money. I shot 1080p 60 fps on my iPhone 6+ and slowed it down with Twixtor in after effects and the results were amazing. Great interface with great focus assist, scopes and waveform what more can you want ? Great job goes out to the team that created this app it makes the iphone a worthwhile second camera in the right circumstances. Actually with the right lens attachments a great first recording choice!
A pockets shooter dream with ONE missing feature

This is truly a great app with everything you can ask for to start shorting professional video. The only feature that is missing is the options for different "Frame Guides" or "Overlays" for when I want to put the black bars in post. It would probably have to be only active during Full Screen mode but it would be cool to have that feature. I love the FULL AUTO mode for when I have to quickly grab a shot on the fly, and the fact that I can control the exposure and focus sliders simultaneously is beyond incredible. I really hope MAVIS continues to support this app with updates, tweaks and more features because this is something I plan on using for a long time. And I hope people will continue to show their support for this company to continue to do great things. This app is a joy to use. I hope they will update it with frame guides in the future.

This is one of the best film apps on the store. Great UI, great usability, great feature set. Focus peaking and zebra stripes are a killer feature. I would love to see the developer add support for the Osmo mobile, an exposure compensation function and easy access to ISO. These would kick the app up another to level.
Intuitive Video App for Pros

Love this app. As a longtime DSLR and pro video cam shooter I've been looking for an app with traditional yet intuitive manual controls and have found it with Mavis. All the controls are there: white balance, shutter speed, ISO. Histogram, false color are icing on the cake. VERY stable. No crashes thus far in 1-5 minute clips. Contacted customer service and they responded within a couple of days. VERY excited about the upcoming OSMO support.

Up until now, I have stubbornly clung to using a dedicated HD camcorder for video footage because the image quality and features like on the fly optical zoom and numerous manual adjustments either don't exist on a cell phone or are extremely sub-par. YET, like meany, my iphone is the camera I always have with me. Over the last week, I have highly touted camcorder apps including FiLMiC-Pro, MoviePro and MAVIS (among others). ALL THE OTHERS, except MAVIS, ultimately dissapointed. The image quality was inconsistant and suffered from various problems like slow autofocus, excessive judder, poor white balance - and maybe most importantly - POOR STABILITY. Lots of freezes and crashes which just doesn't work. So reluctantly, I made one more buy and plunked down the $17 for MAVIS.....and WOW!!!!! In a league by itself. I have and IPHONE 6 PLUS and 7 PLUS and what it is able to get out of those cameras (especially the 7) is unbelievable in terms of image quality and manual control - AND....wait for it....I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO MAKE IT CRASH! I love this app! The various manual controls are intuitive and powerful....but it's the image quality and stability that make it a game changer and I can now happily leave my dedicated camcorder at home 90% of the time when I would have wanted it before. There are only two things I've noticed that may get better over time. FIRST is judder related to frame rate. On a normal camcorder, dropping down to 24 or 30fps can result in less smooth images during fast pans...but it doesn't create judder. For some reason (maybe processor power), the lower frame rates do seem to produce a lot of judder that (thankfully) largely goes away at 60fps. I will add this is more noticeable/problematic on the 6 PLUS than the 7. SECOND is zooming. The developer has made the decision to hold off on supporting any kind of digital zoom (on the fly or otherwise) - though they do support both lenses on the 7 plus. Given the lack of zooming within the lense aparatus, that's perhaps a good call. HOWEVER, doing it post shoot is a lot of extra work compared to the convenience of doing it on the fly. I would hope (if the processor power supports it), they might offer something like a 1080p output that is working with a 4K resolution input to interpolate the equivelant of some kind of digital zooming - in the app vs. post production would be SO NICE. Nonetheless, amazing app!!!! Don't know with FiLMic gets so much publicity and kudos - MAVIS is FAR BETER.

First off I love this app. The only reason why it only gets 1 stars is it only works on iPhone. Where filmic pro will work on my iPad (3 gen) and my iPod touch (6th gen). If you can Make it work on the newer iPod touches that would be awesome. Until then 1 star.

Simply a fantastic app. I generally would never pay so much for any app but this is worth it. You should go to their website and go under Support to read through the documentation. Also, it took me a few minutes of study to realize that with the pairs of icons on the left, one opens the slide out menu and the other shows what you've picked. I just ordered a plug in mix so I'll see if the app handles it. You will not be disappointed with this this app.
