Hands down the best app out there for professional filmmaking on the iPhone. It's easier to use, more stable, faster, and more capable than Filmic Pro. Definitely deserves more attention and I can't wait to see what they send out in the next update!

Great app! But…

I love this app it is extremely professional as stated I've been using it for a good minute now. Molly problem with that is that I can't use my anamorphic lens on it I have a Moondog leg is well. That is a key feature that's needed and because of that I can't use it like I want to for professional shoots. This is the only drawback currently is that you can't use that lens...

Top Pro Movie Camera

This stands up to a $2000 DSLR Nikon. It puts Filmic Pro to shame. You will never look back. Started an hour film with Filmic Pro but it kept crashing. I switched to my DSLR, and then I discovered Mavis Professional filmmaking app. I still can hardly believe my eyes. Every aspect of this app is mind blowing. I got a small tripod and shoot whenever I want to all over NYC. Unbelievable 4K footage with total manual control with no crashes, low noise, and it's easy to use. If you are a independent filmmaker or just want to make some great home movies don't miss this! No more bulky unreliable equipment .... amazing highly editable beautiful footage....for an awesome price...thank you Mavis for changing the experience of filmmaking. I couldn't live in this field without this Mavis Professional Filmmaking app. Enjoy this Pro experience. It's changed my work after over 20 years in the field.

Best video recording app

Really amazing for an iPhone video app! Has features for professional videographers. Rock solid so far in my experience and hasn't crashed, which is crucial for a video recording app. Unfortunately other video apps I've tried have crashed and I've lost footage. MAVIS is great and hasn't.

Best camera app for filmmakers!

This app by far has the sleekest and easiest to use interface. The waveform monitor is so helpful when setting exposure. Recording at full resolution allows you to really push the limits of what can be shot with an iPhone. There’s room for a few additional features, but I’m sure they will come with updates. It’s obvious the designers are taking the time to implement things in a nice intuitive way.

Truly "Professional"

Proper video scopes and bitrates; you'd be crazy to use any other app for filmmaking. If you use professional monitors out in the field, you know how useful (and often times, critical) a waveform and vectorscope can be. And it doesn't stop there. Usable focus-peaking and false color are available as well. The layout is good as well, meaning everything is there as you need it, and not in the way. SUGGESTION: If it's possible, a way to tap on the waveform to get a quick view of a taller, more overlaid translucent view of the waveform would be nice. And maybe a pinch-to-zoom on the vectorscope, like how you can do a magnification on the vectorscope in DaVinci Resolve. Regardless however, AS-IS the app is near perfect and super fun to use!

Detested Video Apps

Until this App, I detested video Apps. I have 14 photography apps that I use, next to two professional Canon SLRs. This is the only video app that makes any sense to me. Well worth the investment. The only other video app I would bother using is VizzyWig, which cost 99$. I at price range Mavis is my go to video app.

Not only is this app extremely professional, but customer service is great. I don't need a DSLR now as this app will help my phone perform extremely similar to one.
