Just updated my phone to iOS 14.2 and the app now crashes to home screen. It won’t launch anymore. Holding off on updating my iPad now. Guess it’s time to say goodbye to this wonderful app that worked better than Apple’s book reader.
This is the best e-book reader I’ve found (and I’ve been reading books on my handheld device since the Palm Pilot days!). I love everything about this app — except that it’s been abandoned by the developer, and no longer works. It refuses to launch under iOS 14.2. I can’t find another e-reader with the same mix of power and ease of use. It’s a shame.
Well built app with plenty of customizations. My only issue is with highlighting. First, it would be nice to have the ability to underline and strikethrough. Second, when I start moving my finger across a sentence to highlight it the page starts to drift into the next page. I’m starting to see unintended highlighted paragraphs. This however is an annoying issue not a major one. The ability to underline and strikethrough would be of greater priority. Keep up the good work.
This app has so many features and custom features that others don’t have. I’ve always loved this app. I’m sorry to see that it hasn’t been updated in quite a while and I’m always terrified it’s going to be discontinued. I can’t live without it.
Save your money and skip this one if you are on iOS 14.2 or later. The app hasn’t been updated in years, but worked flawlessly until the iOS 14.2 update. Now it crashes to Home Screen.
After updating to iPadOS 14.2, it would crash on open, but after unloading and reinstalling the app, everything worked fine again. Marvin is still vastly better than the Kindle app. Kindle only recently gained the ability to filter by read/unread, and still lacks lots of other basic features, like sorting by series, or a convenient list of recently opened books.
Please update app so we can use it with the iPhone update! This is the best ebook app out there!
I can no longer download from Project Gutenberg. No idea why. It’s in the list of sites, but it doesn’t show up! Very frustrating...
