Can't change link color

nyacgt

I like to read in dark mode but all the links and table of contents are very dark blue no matter which color theme I use. So this app is useless if I can't read part of my book.

So close to perfect…

This reader is amazing and I’ve used it for years. The only thing is now when I close a book and reopen it, it goes to the beginning of the chapter. I have to remember to set a bookmark. Not sure what the issue is I love using green text on a black background. Truly an amazing app

Mostly very good, with one MAJOR bug

thisnamestoolong

When I change the orientation of my device, it goes crazy with my place in the book. Being that accurately keeping track of my place in the book is basically the most fundamental feature of a reader app, this makes the app entirely useless — I really don’t care how customizable the appearance is when I can’t reliably keep my place in the book.

Sync annotations!

stanblues999

This is by far the best e-reader. It’s design is aligned with apple like devices. The features are outstanding. Highlight tagging is sublime and, as far as I know, no other e-reader has this. Unfortunately, in this day and age, and with the variety of options, functionality trumps bells and whistles...you kind of don’t have a choice. Manually synching your highlights is a nightmare. You will go to the washroom, pick up your iPhone, only to forget youve synced your work on your iPad. Even worse highlighting one one device an hour of work while forgetting to sync 2 hours of work on another device. Average consumer works across multiple projects, besides just reading books, on a day to day basis. You’re dealing with large amounts of thought processing constantly. Your note taking, journaling, tasks, document databases - amongst many others - and book reading. You are constantly switching devices st home, at work, in transit. Your brain will forget even a simple concept as a manual sync. Many will argue the “come on how hard is it to push a button?”...when you consider all the variables, trust me, it becomes extremely difficult. On another note - and as I mentioned briefly in the beginning - this is an amazing reader, and nothing even comes close to it (maybe kybook as it supports multiple formats yet, no tag highlighting) but, the note & highlight synching issue proves to difficult for my workflow. Until this issue is resolved I will be sticking to Apple’s Books. Fix highlight synching and I’m in. Support more formats and I’ll be in 100%. Otherwise, great job on a magnificent piece of software. Review update I was wrong in regards to highlight synching. The tool is not capable of highlight synching whatsoever. I believe page location is all it can sync (even that I found not to sync with certainty). Highlights ca be exported from one device to another, a feature called (Marvin to Marvin export). Let’s assume you work on your iPhone then would like to switch to iPad (vice versa applies similarly). You export to a location of your choice (Dropbox, iDrive) and when you go on your iPad, you would open the file by sending it to Marvin. You do that each time you switch devices. There you go , it’s actually more complicated than originally stated.

How to upgrade to premium version?

S.T. Boston

I looked at few ePub readers and Marvin 3 is my personal favorite. The interface is clean and customizable. After I tried the full screen and I am ready to upgrade to premium version. To my surprise I cannot find the option for in-app purchase. I guess I have to wait for the 1 day trial to pass before I can upgrade. Keep up the good work. I love to support awesome application like this one.

Not compatible with XS Max

Rhythm Patrol

Such a great app but unfortunately hasn’t been updated in over a year and has been abandoned by the developer. Could use a few tweaks.

Great e-reader

Arbeet

I’ve used many e-readers over the years, and Marvin is my go-to (non-Kindle) app. I’m able to customize it for just the way I like to read. I use Calibre to convert and upload books, and it is a breeze with Marvin! There are only two things I would like to have, but neither one takes away from a 5-star rating! If you haven’t tried it yet, do yourself a favor now. There are far more features than I can list. It would be great if reading in landscape on an iPad supported a 2 column display! The other issue is that syncing between devices really doesn’t work very well. I would love those two as upgrades, Marvin folk!!!

Suggestion

I love this app! I would love it even more if there was a way for me to pick up where I left off in my book on a different device instead of scrolling to find my page ?

This app is great

Great app but needs cloud storage

Constantly crashes under iOS 13

nozakit

I've had this program for a couple years and it worked perfectly, holding a library of several thousand books. With the iOS update, it started crashing nonstop. I can get it to work with a couple dozen books in the library, but it crashes and then won't work. Once it crashes, there's no way to make it operate. I have to delete it, re-download the program (which deletes all the books), and work again until it inevitably crashes, rendering it useless. It hasn't been updated for some time. It's the best ePub reader I've used; sorry to have to retire it unless a more recent update shows up. I'd even happily pay for Marvin 4, if it works with iOS 13.
