Dropbox no longer supported

Due to a dropbox upgrade, currently Gerty does NOT support dropbox sync. The ONLY reason I purchased.

Perfect for me
sandimacd

I was looking for a reader that can handle Gutenberg Project books by verticals scrolling. I read on my iPad, have had cataract surgery and require 3.5 readers. I have problems with only the center of my glasses being in focus- the rest of my screen is not a clear- so I prefer verticals scrolling. I can keep my eye focused in one place and move the text rapidly into that field of vision. It's especially useful in portrait mode if I am reading in bed on my side before falling asleep. I like the ability to size the font and space the lines and adjust the color of the page and brightness. Combined, these features very much improve my reading enjoyment. It's very easy to find an epub format of free online books and then "open" it in this app. Nice library of icon-images of the books. I don't really use any other features. I am a fast reader, often finishing it in a couple of days.

Best ebook reader

It is easy to switch color modes and change text sizes. I love the auto scroll.

App Support?
tinathetinytaco

I can’t get the dyslexia font to work. When I went to try to contact support, I was just redirected to their page with no info on how to contact support. I was really excited to use this app because of the font.

Zero Support
Janniel

Bought app, had a problem, multiple tries to get in touch with support, was ignored.

OK for reading - BAD for notes
daaav75

Came here for auto scroll but disappointed by how the note taking is handled. This app could use serious update: Sharing/Copy/pasting text only results in pasting the cover image of the book in your text document/email. If you stay within the app, it works alright but then it gets hard/impossible to organize your notes when you’re a writer doing research etc and need to move your text around. If you dont need anything else than reading, maybe that app is for you.

iPhone X support

Please update for iPhone X support. I can’t say how much I like it, as I just downloaded it. Thank you!

Dropbox Syncing
Jewjsheoxh

Dropbox syncing does not work and their website provides not information as to how to troubleshoot it nor is their tech staff responsive.

Was great but doesn’t get support anymore
Katainthedark

App hasn’t been updated in 2 years, Dropbox downloads no longer works, all my ebooks are there so it’s useless now if I can’t retrieve them. Not as useful as it used to be. I loved this app and super disappointed that it’s been abandoned. Looking for something better now.

Not a replacement for Marvin
CaffeineIV

I'm not sure if the developer is phasing Marvin out, but this app won't allow users to customize metadata the way Marvin will. The info pane is hard to find, and once found, it links to web services like wikipedia without offering the option to edit the information presented. This makes it extremely difficult to correct an issue with sorting, such as author by first name first vs last name first in the author sort field. I had hoped that this app would allow more complete management of my library than Marvin does, but Gerty also only offers one level sorting. Ideally, I would be able to manually sort my cover view, or sort by author, then series. Both apps stop at one level of sorting, though.
