Cash grab

jonnywade

Scopely took over, quality of life stayed on the up, then they took the game threw on the deafening headphone, blinders and ran it right into the rocks. The community is on the verge of a boycott with some already starting and some beta players outright quitting. Don’t bother downloading this one, if they keep this up the game will be dead before you unlock iron man.

Wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy!

Simply put, Scopely could care less about it’s player base. They have actively begun to do the opposite of what they’ve done in the past or they change their own advertised schedule to screw over players that began to farm based on what Scopely told them. Scopely creates a “panic farm” or cash spending atmosphere by changing events at the last minute, contradicting what they published to players the week prior. They mislead it’s community of players with misrepresented character strengths and unevenly powered matchups. It’s all to make you think a team can counter the “meta” squad, when in actuality, they can’t. Players expected an event at Christmas, since it had happened for 2 years previously. So scopely just completely canceled the event and didn’t tell anyone. People farmed for something Scopely knew they wouldn’t have. Yes, this game is free to play, but not free to compete. And if you do try to be competitive as a free player, know that when the free community begins to catch up to the “whales” that spend tons of $$$ to stay at the top, Scopely introduces a new tier level, or player level, or equipment to gear up, that will allow it’s top players to pull away again. In 2 months Scopely has ruined this game for me by their cash grab tactics and dishonesty. They did the exact same thing in their Walking Dead game, and that was a few years ago. Build something enjoyable, gain people’s interest and build a community. Then change everything to a cash gran / panic atmosphere when people feel they’ve committed too much time and built too many relationships to leave.

Downhill

This game is on its slow death toll now. The pay walls installed by Scopely have become TOO numerous to navigate. DONT spend money on this game!

No WiFi no play

I’m giving this 1 star because you can’t play unless you’re on WiFi and I have 5 bars of 5G strength

Sad to see how the game has changed

Scopely has gotten rid of micro transactions, added too many bottlenecks to count, locked content behind paywalls. Still I thought for a time it was fun to play non competitively. But then Scopely started releasing content that strongly recommends characters with high red stars. These only come out of orbs with rare drop rates. And they’re locked behind paywalls. Scopely has added a gambling mechanic into the game and is deliberately preying on people with addiction problems. It’s immoral and quite probably illegal. After 2 years of playing I’ve hit my limit.

Fun but expensive game

Anonymousmarvelfan123

I’ve been playing this game for a while and it’s fun and addictive but requires a lot of work and spending to build up new characters and be competitive. It’s completely geared towards big whale spenders and the majority of the player base simply cannot keep up unless they spend a lot. It’s a very capitalistic short term mindset that drives the design of this game which is a shame because it doesn’t have to be this way to be profitable, which seems to be only priority here.

Was better before Scopley

Ivehadbetter13

Game was fun. It is great to collect Heroes and villains. Combat is fun at first but gets repetitive. The game is plagued with bugs that never get fixed, and is clearly pay to win. You will never catch up and it will cost you a ton of money to keep up with the pace of releases and the intentional bottle necks. Also, my anecdotal experience is that the drop rates on premium orbs and red star orbs don’t seem to match up with reality. All in all since Scopley took over, I would stay away.

Developer ignores its community

Shout13

Constant bugs, lack of communication, and ignoring community feedback are just some of the reasons they should get a 1 star.

Nope.

Game was fun for a year or 2, it got popular and a bigger company bought it out, games full on pay to win now. Really sad honestly it used to b so much fun, and totally free to play friendly.

More an “experience” for $, less game

Sprungmonkey

Year long player (user) who can affirm that more and more game mechanics drive to spending with less game activity. Reliably frequent bugs, inattentive support, and poor development means you are better off finding a better time sink.
