I don't think I've ever written a review for an app before, but felt compelled to here. This thing has been an absolute godsend. I don't know how they plan to monetize it, but I hope the developers are swimming in a vault of money like Scrooge McDuck already. I used to keep an insane amount of lists in Evernote to remember bars and restaurants of different kinds. I had a "cheap food" list, I had a "date night" list, a "cocktails and cheese plates list" etc etc. My wife and I would get so annoyed looking at all the lists to pick a spot that we almost swore off food and drinking and fun completely. Then this handy dandy app comes along and PROBLEM SOLVED! You can tag as many places as you want with as many tags as you want and search em all with one tap. Gives you a visual map, a detailed tag based description of your choosing, and MAYBE best of all, you can write your own notes for each place you tag. I've been using the notes feature to write down each place's happy hour specials. Takes away the need for a Happy Hour finder app (which are all trash anyway), and puts all that info right there every time you click the place. You can also add your own notes like "best Mac and Cheese I've ever had" or "bathrooms are gross, but drinks are cheap" ... whatever you want to be helpful to your future self. I've just convinced some friends to hop on the app so I could see how the social feature works, and so far I think it's extremely cool. You can click on your friends' maps and see everything they've tagged and if you see somewhere you would like to try or that you would otherwise like to add to your own list, one click adds it to your own map. You can also share recommendations for people by pulling one of your tagged locations and clicking "share", and this comes in MIGHTY handy for all my out of town friends who come to the city being needy and asking for recommendations for everything from coffee to specifically Creole food to yadda yadda. Pull up a tag, send them a few, done. I also find it really great for tagging places in other cities that I would otherwise never remember. Went to Denver a while back and ate at a few places that I would like to try again when I go back. Tag em here and I won't forget. The feature to import your tagged locations from Instagram and Facebook is a GENIUS tool for helping with this, as I would have already forgotten the names of a lot of out of town spots I've visited and wanted to tag. I don't know how it took so long for an app like this to come out, but man I'm glad it did. Give your notes on your phone a break and put everything well organized in one place when it comes to where ya wanna eat or drink or activities you'd like to do, or that cool mechanic you went to once. It doesn't have to be so hard. Mapstr has made it incredibly easy (and actually fun). This will probably be my ONE review because I'm just that enthused about this thing. Sorry for making it a novel. But yeah. The app is very very good and very very useful. Get it.

I used to write down all the places (and to-do's) on a long list - and lost overview at some point. Mapstr finally helps me to get an overview of my favorite (future) places. Love it!

I just love this. I was frustrated with yelp/ gmaps showing me tons of places I would never go. I used to have a list of places to try / ideas of things to do. Now I can see what's close to each other when I'm hopping around town.

My husband travels for work and I frequently accompany him. Mapstr has helped us easily plan our trips and navigate foreign cities and be able to visit everywhere that we want to go. Thank you for such an amazing app!

I’ve been thinking about an app like this to mark places on the map, and this app did exactly that! No more struggling with Google Maps and pinpointing locations. Great for planning vacations. Love this app! One thing I would recommend would be to add filters for different cities so that I can organize my locations by city.

So easy to use and keeps track of all the places I visit - restaurants, theaters, lodging, etc. The ability to create my own tags and keep notes, reminders, and ratings of how much I enjoyed a particular place is perfect!

How many times has a friend asked for restaurant recommendation and you cannot remember? With this app it makes categorizing all your favorite spots with tags in one app! Looks absolutely gorgeous on the iPhone X.
