I first was introduced to Mahjong by the Yakuza game series. I dare say this app is the better of the two experiences.

I agree with billybob on both entertainment value and inability to quickly look up how to construct different hands. Some of the hands don't exist in the traditional game, so need to have quick reference. Scoring is different, as well. All in all, fun to play.

Its fun and a great learning game for mahjong. I just wish the characters have numbers on it for the learners to know.
The Real Deal!

I absolutely love that this is the real mahjong, instead of a matching game. An added bonus is that since you're playing the computer, I don't have to worry about joining a social network to play.

Authentic multiplayer mahjong gameplay

This app is the only one I’ve found with which you can play regular mahjong as opposed to mahjong solitaire. Players who are unfamiliar with the gameplay may want to look up the rules beforehand but there are also helpful instructions in the app. It’s also very helpful that you can choose to have the number tiles appear in Arabic numerals instead of their Chinese characters.
