I love Chinese MJ, though we play a much simpler version that doesn’t require sequences in your hand, just any old run or 3-of-a-kind and the “snake eyes”. I haven’t figured out how you get the big coins, either. So glad for this version!

This really a great game it gave me plenty of practice when my family dident want to play with me all the time. I also love the Key for the tiles and types of hands.

This app has helped me learn to play Mahjong well enough. There is basic Mahjong play which is a lot like gin rummy. The scoring and I call them side rules complicate the game. This app does attempt to tell you how the scoring is happening but for a newbie it’s deficient. No where I can find what version of Mahjong we are playing. The winning hands are endless I don’t know how anyone can memorize all the combinations, what is a chuck? I can’t find explanations of several other terms used in the game.
AI needs better algorithms

This game is pretty good for those who want to learn how to play the game, however I have not lost a single time versus the AI opponents. I have checked their hands at the end of each game and they are not even close to having a winning hand. This lack of competition makes winning feel unrewarding. If the AI was better, this would be a 5 star rating.

The game is well laid out, and is really good for quick rounds whenever. Another big bonus is that the adds aren’t pop ups and are very unobtrusive.
