Gives you the exact info in the order you need it

I’ve been using duolingo for a week and got frustrated with the lack of explanations. This app filled in the blanks for me perfectly.

Writing Kanji

marichards

This app would be perfect if there was a way to learn to write kanji in it. When taught hirigana and katakana we were taught stroke order and how to write it but with kanji we just have to remember it without every learning all the strokes :/// I love the app otherwise, i’d pay $20 for it if i could just learn kanji the same way it teaches hirigana and katakana.

Great way to start your kana learning

Kurisu tinu

It’s great way to memorize your kana. It’s quick and can fit these bite size lessons into a busy schedule.. which I love. I only wish the app had a way of reviewing the kana that I Most frequently get wrong.

App overview!

Jessiesays

I enjoy using this app! I am beginning to teach myself Japanese and I’m starting off with Hiragana first. I love how it’s broken down into Hiragana-and has lessons with using Hiragana. Also, with Katana it has the lessons to go along with each specific part! I also use this with my daughter so she can listen and follow along as well!!! This has helped me so much and I will be purchasing the full bundle in order to have access to everything within the app! I need to invest in getting some hiragana and katana writing practice sheets to work on my writing (currently using two notebooks) one for vocabulary and grammar! I would recommend anyone to get this app and see if you like it! It’s great for beginners in addition to the other Japanese learning apps that I have I’m learning at a very fast rate with the hiragana so far! Love, love, love it!!!

Amazing

I love hat it tells u whether or not u have to redo the lesson or not. The only thing that I would change is the fact that u have to pay to continue.

Great app!

Just getting started and I feel like I’m learning a lot and actually remembering it. The full app costs 7.99 but is worth it if you want to learn Japanese

Family sharing doesn’t share the full version

CptYossarian

It only shares exactly the same thing everyone else gets for free. Effectively it does nothing. It is completely misleading to say this app has family sharing. Only a female Japanese voice is available for pronunciations. For a deeper male voice it is hard to copy the speaker. The pronunciations also need additional examples in context so you can learn them. There are no visual cues with hiragana to help you memorize the shapes. Memory works with relationships. I’ve seen better cue cards that have Japanese words and pictures (e.g. an いぬ picture to learn い )

Good but these updates...

Midshadows

My app was working flawlessly a few weeks ago, but the last few days when I go through the Hiragana and katakana alphabet lessons it will briefly show one of the screens for maybe a millisecond and jump to the next one without me picking one of the options. This doesn't happen for every single one but the ones it does happen for it does it 2-3 times in one lesson. Before the update that caused this it was perfectly fine and optimal for learning. I really love this app and when I do have time I tend to use it at least once a day. I would still recommend this app, but could someone please fix this new bug?

Love it. Just one tiny problem...

Alex's.123432343

I love this app because it shows you which ones you need to work on. And it purposefully tests you on the ones that you are lacking on too. But there is one small problem. I learned “nu” perfectly for hiragana but even if I do it perfectly it still says I’m writing it’s wrong. Other than that, great.

Bugs Fixed Quickly Great App

DonnieDubs

So I rated this a bit lower a while back, but the developer has fixed a few bugs with unexpected shutdowns and some touch screen false touches. The app is now quite excellent, and I am using it without any observed problems. Love the app for its simple repetition
