Scene and track saving

M John 100

Hi like gadget a lot , but I don't like entering note and velocity information every time I want to fill a track with data. I think when you select function to set quantization you should have a load and save data there, to select or save patterns for the device loaded at the time. Loading and saving scenes would be good too. Track patterns most important. I load up four Gladstones and use 1 for kick drum ,2 for snare 3 for hi hat 4 for toms you can keep going 5 more toms just tune toms different in each Gladstone 6 cymbals 7 electric drum hits . I do this because if you use one Gladstone all the the sounds go through same eq and compression. Multiple Gladstone's Each can have separate settings.of tuning ,decay , eq compression. Much better. Then do same with bass , so on , to build scene. By the way gadget sequencer is really easy and fun to use . You could use this as a template project. Or if you could save scenes , as a scene template, and if you could append one scene to another scene .You would be able to start with your drum scene append with another scene that has your bass And keyboard sounds for one project .and append with different scene with different instruments for different project. If you could save and load track data you could have your most used drum patterns and bass lines ,so on ,for the kind of music you do, where you just load in all ready stored patterns allowing you to work faster. The software is great as is but if korg could use the whole iPad system of audio units so on, it could be even better. A few more cymbal sounds would help Gladstone be better. Thanks Mark

Slowwwwww on iPad Pro and iOS 11

Mr. Rasputin

I’ve been using this app for years and really do love it, but the most recent iteration is verrrrrrry laggy and slow. I’m using a brand new 10.5 inch iPad Pro too, so I’m not sure if this newest version is built for Mac OS and then ported to iPad or what, but the lag frequently makes the on-screen soft synths unplayable. If the app can’t run smoothly on the latest hardware, maybe we need to roll it back a version, Korg? It has run fine the past few years on my iPad Air 1...

Serious fun.

Fingers on fire

So much has been packed into Gadget, still easy to use and endless libraries of patches to spark the imagination. Surprisingly useful for EWI, Electronic Wind Instrument, live patch selection. Easy cc assignment. The effects sound real nice as well, but I would like a bit more control on some. Gadget has brought a lot of fun back to writing.

Amazing!

ImortalTrashcan

I'd give it 6/5 if I could. Amazing sounds and an amazing package. It is worth the money, and a steal when it's on sale!

Still not Audio Unit compatible..

Ceaze67

This would’ve gotten 5 stars if it was Audio Unit compatible. Allow me to open Korg Gadget as an audio unit within Garageband or any other au compatible app so I can load different Korg instruments in them. Also, add gadget effects, like reverbs delays eqs compressors similar to the new limiter you guys recently released. Take notes from IK Multimedia’s Syntronik!

Love Gadget! Needs Auv3 support

eclipxe

Great app - needs a few things: - Longer sampler import (or a gadget to manipulate samples) - AuV3 support for instruments, effects and midi - Support for time stretch in a new advanced sampler.

Unbelievable Usable DAW

A GOOD MOUSER

Edit: since earlier this year we now have audio input. I’m a little disappointed by how rudimentary the audio editing is, but then again, I’m not sure Gadget is really aimed at producers looking for a full-featured traditional DAW, and as such the basic ability to input and edit little pieces of audio is probably enough for your average user. I’m still hoping Gadget will evolve further, because as it stands, if you are producing vocals heavy music in a traditional verse/chorus/bridge type of format and structure with some type of lead vocal, you probably won’t intend on finishing your vocal tracking and editing in Gadget. After using for about three years I guess that’s my biggest caveat for potential buyers; don’t expect to replace your other DAW altogether if you’re making music with a vocal melody, unless those melody/lyrical portions are short pieces that your vocalist can perform flawlessly without requiring the usual postproduction editing. At the end of the day, this is where my production are framed and sketched, and once it has been arranged as much as possible I then output individual tracks into Cubasis or Auria for some more work, and tracking vocals before mix/master. Still a fantastic, and increasingly refined DAW loaded with a wide palette of vintage and modern sounds and effects. I spend about six hours every day exclusively in Gadget. It has paid for itself many times over, and someday I plan on sitting down to see what is possible if used in conjunction with the Mac OS version. ————- I have worked extensively in Cubasis and Auria, and while Gadget is a DAW of sorts (still lacking audio input and IAA/AU/AB support) it's workflow, and imbedded "Gadgets" offer an immense palette with an unrivaled workflow, which demands at least a spot in your iOS audio production tool kit. I used to be bothered by the difficulty with and inability to start the play head wherever you wish, and the looping basis for playback, but after three years of buying thousands of dollars in audio production iOS app software, Gadget continues to form at least a significant part of the basis for my song sketching and framing workflow. I am still excited to see the announced audio input and three new Gadgets in action, and would like to see implementation of IAA/AB/AU support also, but even without those things (which I believe still hold this back from its true potential as an all-around DAW)...this guy still continues to impress and amaze me as, at least, part of an overall iOS sound and music production workflow. The addition of Allihoopa as a way to collaborate and share projects and files (without needing to render and export stems) between 2+ Gadget users, will likely be a part of what cements this DAW's reputation in my personal production history as one of the keys that unlocked iOS as a true competitor to traditional DAWs on personal computer OS platforms. Add in the coming the Mac OS version of Gadget...and we just may have a set of tools that will help bring about the revolution of portable and/or touchscreen based audio engineering. This is an addicting and innovative piece of software, designed with serious abilities. It has no peer on iOS, and while Cubasis and Auria Pro have more abilities (and probably more comfortable foe desktop/laptop based DAW users), I think it should be the starting point for any beginner who is interested and learning and developing an audio production workflow. But in the hands of a seasoned pro...this things can make serious music. If you're serious about making music on iOS, buy it, and don't look back.

Rad DAW in spite of apple

paidprotester

I love this application and the sounds, usability, add-ons, it’s affordable and useful. However one huge problem is actually getting your tracks off of an ipad. The restricted file management and sharing “protocols” are obviously not designed with professional use in mind. If you plan on using this only as a synth/sequencer to record into something else through the audio jack, fine, this is it. If you plan on making finished multitrack recordings with exported wav files, prepare to be bottlenecked.

All this power for so little ?!

Cheeba Charlie!

I have been a Korg product user for some time, I have owned a couple of tritons, a couple of ms-2000’s and I currently own three analog synths by Korg. needless to say I am a fan. Anyway, I never expected to find such powerful music production software available for my phone. I literally make beats everyday, everywhere. Granted there are other apps that also allow me to do this, but Gadget is just so easy to function. It only takes a few seconds to get a loop going and the inspiration just flows in after that. I definitely recommend this app to anyone who wants to make music.
