Really amazing!

Fretless33

I have only begun to explore the power of this DAW. The amount of drum machines and synth apps you get included in this app is mind boggling...and they are all Korg super machines! Each included Gadget has its own unique properties and sounds...it really is a pleasure to explore. The price is steep but well worth it! I got mine 50% off for Black Friday ☺️ In the iPhone the user interface is very difficult to see, so bring your reading glasses and the way the tracks are stacked was odd to figure out that they were not just loops, but tracks stacked on one another and gadgets side by side. Once you figure that out recording becomes easy, but I still haven't figured out how to advance the cursor to specific areas without hitting play and waiting for it to hit the mark you want. There is a learning curve, but it's not impossible to figure out.

Crashing

I have been getting a lot of crashes to the home screen stuck screens when trying to save projects. Please

Needs better layering/interface

Angry Guy who hates this app.

This app is great! I bought it and am really happy with it. I just wish that the interface for layering/recording was more like FL, GarageBand, etc. Otherwise it is great. 5 Stars!

Great App!!!!

Great stuff

The way they lay out tracks is a little different, but it doesn't take long to get used to it. The way they've incorporated drum machines and modules is awesome. Tons of great sounds and functionality for creating lots of cool stuff.

Great sound, songwriting. Needs performance tools.

Excellent sounds and synth tools. Even easy enough to write songs in this environment. I’d really like it to have some performance tools. Even GarageBand, a free app, has LiveLoops. I don’t even need this to be another clip launcher app, but that would be cool. The Scenes are fine for that, but if there were some better ways to use this in a performance setting that would be appreciated. Possibly shrink down the scenes into square buttons in live mode so it would be easier to fit more onto one screen for triggering. Also, some live FX and mixing tools would be great. GarageBand now has this down. Kaosspad stuff, etc. finally, midi out would be helpful from the sequenced tracks...I have a lot of Korg synths I’d like to use with it live. Generally very happy here, it just needs a little more for the money this costs.

Who am I kidding...

This app is sick. Just got an interface (audiobox itwo). Its got midi and audio in and outs... that did it. That opened this app up big time. The guitar effects processor sounds great and is easy to use and record. The audio recorder works equally as well. And having my keyboard to play all the cool synths and sounds, whole new ballgame. Also loving the piano roll. Works great. It’s easy to learn as you go with this app, it’s not complex. Bottom line, it’s a lot of fun in a small package for a good price. Don’t hesitate, take the plunge.

Just one thing

So much in a single app...

Depending on the kind of music you make Korg Gadget is really a one stop shop and even if you need more, it's easy to add it. Or rather, it's easy to export all the separate parts into a daw where you can complete the project with what you want to add. It takes some getting used to because it approaches tracks in a different way than your typical DAW. It's not entirely intuitive but once you learn where everything is and how to do things you realize the logic of how they set it up. That's a good thing because it means you don't have to check the manual constantly. The sound quality is impeccable and with the sheer number of synthesizers and drum machines available, you should never run out of inspiration. I do cinematic progressive rock and I'm constantly creating progressions within Gadget. Generally I create the melodies and some leads and then export to add drums and guitars later. There is a guitar emulation gadget but the sounds in it are seriously lacking. There is a way to record audio into a reel to reel gadget but I haven't tried it yet. I should give it a shot. A few of Korg's standalone apps work in Gadget as well. Gadget sees that you have them on your iPad and asks you if you would like to add them to Gadget. Apps like iM1, iMonoPoly and iWAVESTATION amongst others. I can go on and on but I'll cut it off here. Gadget is simple enough for beginners. It's actually amazing for beginners because it makes music creation accessible without years of music study. I think that's the biggest plus that Gadget offers. It also has enough complexity that seasoned musicians will be able to find something for themselves as well.

Multi channel audio and or pattern recording

QuinnX.

Great app, but we need multi channel audio channel output routing for audiobus and live mix/processing performance. Pattern sequence recorder Ability to record your session just like ableton live records every trigger and recording sequence including patter triggering etc This probably wouldn't be needed if gadget transmitted midi, but appears to only receive midi data
