Awesome synth
I love Gadget! While it has some limitations (some of the plugins are worthless to me), it’s overall a wonderful app for sequencing, recording, editing and storing new sounds for use later, etc. Also, while recording, most of the apps allow for live parameter changes, which is a blast. For the $100 or so that I have invested in Gadget and accessory plugins, I have a stunning and highly capable tool.

Honestly the App Store just asked me to comment and rate gadget ....I rather be making music but felt obligated to say I love this app...I’m hardly a pro with it but it can do so many things....and is very powerful. I use it with a korg nanoKEY INTO a kc350 Roland amp. And it sounds like a really nice synth or keyboard. Best app I have ever bought honest.

I have a number of IOS sequencers (Modstep, BeatMaker 3, Auria Pro, Medley, Thumb Jam, ...) and overall I find Gadget is my go to app. A big part of this is the behavior of the piano roll which has the best handling of the apps I own. For drum parts the step sequencer in Modstep is better but none of the other apps have the efficient piano roll editor that Gadget has. A drawback is you are limited to Korg gadgets and I imagine for any type of music you will need to purchase some IAP gadgets. For pop/rock/Jazz etc. you really need IAP drums, bass, piano. There are some interface quirks (e.g. to rename a scene you click on time signature in function mode, not intuitive at all) and midi import is a mess, breaking midi sequence into multiple 2 bar scenes. But overall Gadget is a very efficient music app. Sharing between devices works great, but again it’s not intuitive.

Great daw environment. Can’t beat it for the price.... I wish they would of put this type of sequencer environment in the korg kronos....

Let’s start out by pointing out that there is no undo option. Korg lied when they said that the Bilbao sampler purchase allows the user to expand the sounds of the London module with your own samples. And then, there is the wretched sequencer. It only works in scenes. Give the option for a linear workflow. Limiting everything to a 16 bar scene is very uninspiring. I guess it’s fine if you’re a four on the floor techno producer.

This app needs midi out like people in hell need ice water. Also, it would be nice to be able to set a default chromatic scale.
