Don’t bother. Stay away.

I worked for Joyrun and quit after a week. It was hard to try to help promote a company I so did not believe in. It is SO not worth it to be a runner. The company makes you charge only $2 per run, and they also don’t want you to be “overwhelmed” so you make max $6-10 per run that takes 30-45min just to drop the food off at all these different locations regardless how far they are from each other. They don’t let you choose to drop off food in one area. It is just kind of ridiculous if you don’t drive a Prius. Not worth it considering gas and time and carrying all these bags of foods/drinks. The company is also extremely disorganized behind the scenes. They put no thought into the people they bring on to the team, and the higher ups don’t see this. I can’t believe they chose some of the people they did to put in charge. I have also ordered from Joyrun and the food takes 2 hours to come and you have no control over what a stranger is doing to your food before you receive it. I ordered fries once and literally had 3 French fries. Another time there was a bite in my sandwich. The company needs to figure out a way to reward the runners so that it is worth it to run and so they have more of an incentive to do it in a timely, respectful manner.

Great customer service! Great side gig!

I love the using this app! I can work in between classes and get bonus money whenever I reach a certain amount of points. That is on top of the money and tips that I earn from each run. It’s fun getting to know people in town and I love being able to order food when I don’t have time to pick it up myself because of classes. The live chat support team is really helpful too. I’ve never had a problem that hasn’t been solved within three minutes thanks to these guys. I love the customer service and I love the app! I absolutely adore this app and think everyone on the college campus should get it!

Waste of time!

lifeisarailway

You only make $3 per hour which doesn’t even cover gas! :(

COMPLETE waste of time and gas for employees

Nashi72

Company LIES to marketing assistant employees about their standard pay per hour. It’s actually a lot less then what they state. DO NOT WORK FOR THEM!! COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND GAS.

Best app ever

Love it 6789

I’ve been doing runs for over two years & working with JoyRun for over a year. JoyRun has helped me in many ways! It’s convenient. You can run on your own time! It can take a while to get adjusted to but once you get the hang of it, it’s almost crazy not to take advantage! I love the app! I love how when I’m working, there is someone on support to talk to, especially if I’m running late at night. The app is a great tool if you want to make extra money, & I’m so glad to have discovered it!!

Solid app could use some improvements

Great idea and a lot of hard working people do a great job supporting the app, but notifications are a mess and it can feel like I’m never truly clocked out

Great Concept, but Design NEEDS work

I have worked for JoyRun just over 2.5 years. I’ve made just shy of $20K, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to work comfortably around a full school schedule. The app is centered around a great strategy, but implementation needs improvement. Communication between campus leads has improved with time, but the word of runners and regular users of the app is lost in translation to development. Certain functions of the app are frustrating, and need to be addressed for the sustainability of the company. HIGHLY RECOMMEND: A rating system for customers to use on individual drivers in order to keep community and new users educated about existing runners. Rating system would also encourage drivers to perform at a higher level if they want customers to order.

Great App

Best way to get food delivered straight to your door quickly and done right!

Love it!

I have been on both sides a buyer and a runner. I have loved being a runner. You get to pick what ever runners fee and it’s when ever you can. Being able to get any food from literally anywhere is amazing!

Slow and inconvenient, use DoorDash

I’ve used this app but I also worked for them at Cal Poly. The company seems to be confused with the idea of convenience. Say I’m hungry and I want Taco Bell. If requested it, I have to wait 20 mins for someone (runner) to decide that they will run to Taco Bell to take orders. Often times they will only pick up if other people also want Taco Bell. From the hungry hour that you waited for the order party to be full, the runner then decides the fee and the location of where it will be delivered. God forbid you inconvenience the runner who can then cancel your order if you’re too far. So there you are, hungry waiting for two hour without your Taco Bell. Even if your run isn’t canceled, delivering in a small town still takes about and hour. People who are hungry, usually don’t plan on eating 4 hours later. When I order stuff on Amazon, I don’t have to wait until enough people in my area have ordered to get my stuff. They understand that it is for the convenience of the individual. Hence why this company will not last.
