It works after update

Bud4325

For 6 months this app would not start the car or do the " beep and flash" feature. So I just didn't use it. I just updated the app, and the remote start feature as well as the beep and flash worked perfectly. Finally!

Doesn’t work

Meyabella

This app crashes it has not connected to my 2018 F Pace since December 25th 2017 on after having my brand new vehicle since October 1st 2017. Three months and now the app doesn’t work during the coldest months of the year. The dealership doesn’t know what to do. I have the same phone i used when they set it up. This is unreliable and I have no their way to remote start my car. 80k and I have to walk to the car to start it.

Things go wrong?

Justrating

Yeah, things go wrong. Like this entire app! This app alone is reason enough NOT to buy a Jaguar. Buying a $55,000+ car that you cannot remote start due to this pathetic app is unacceptable. There is no way to remote start from the FOB. My friends that drive Chevrolet’s have no problem remote staring their cars with the Chevy app. Jaguar is well aware of this problem but yet expects their customers to put up with it. This app is useless!!

Watch shows KM and Celsius

MeBuff8Fan

The iPhone app shows Miles and Fahrenheit but the watch version shows KM and Celsius. There doesn’t seem to be a way to change this. 1.70 seemed to fix this issue but 1.70.1 broke it again. There still doesn’t look like a way to toggle the units.

Frustrating!

When this app works, it’s great. The problem is, it only works seamlessly about 20% of the time. Bought the new car 2 months ago and it’s been painful, especially since it’s diesel and I need to start the car up in advance to warm it up. We had a really cold few weeks where I would spend 30-40 minutes trying to get it to start, but the app would crash on me, not open at all, or say there was no connection, etc. I don’t have any other connection problems with other apps, so this is very frustrating. I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled with no luck. Unfortunately, because of this, I would never buy a Jaguar in the future. Too many headaches. Wish there was something that could be done so I could actually enjoy driving my new car!

Do not get!!!

Kurstie doles

After recently purchasing a Jaguar XF, I was super excited to try out this app. I downloaded the app and did a test start to see if it would start the car through the remote and it did! I was so excited and about 1 hour later I got in my car to leave and I could not push to Start. It would not allow me to start the car, so I tried starting the car through the app and it wouldn’t let me start it that way either! So I started to panic and called several Jaguar Assistance lines and stayed on the phone for about 2 hours for them to tell me I had to bring it to a local dealership! Well I live 2.5 hours from my nearest dealership and since the car wouldn’t crank it was going to have to be towed, until I finally got in touch with a local mechanic and he told me to do a “hard reset” to the car which was to unhook the battery for 15 min. Thank god this worked!!! I would not have been a happy jaguar owner if it did not!! I do not think this was the cars fault, but instead this poorly manufactured app!! Download and use at your own risk!! (Ps. I had to give it a star rating in order to submit this review, it got NEGATIVE stars in my opinion)

Bad app for a great vehicle!

34th_RedBull

This piece of junk app is nearly useless at helping me to control my Jaguar F-Pace. As of iOS 11.2.5 the app just crashes on open. What gives? Get with it Jaguar/TaTa. This application needs a complete overhaul. Start from the ground up and trash this POS.

Not reliable at all

Chris55118

I drive a 2017 XJL Portfolio edition. The App regularly just doesn’t work at all. You have to re-sign in most times and then it doesn’t locate your car or connect for remote start. Other times the App will give me a message about it not responding and ask me if I want to anonymously submit a report of the problem. I hit “send report” which is pretty pointless to submit it anonymously (which is your only option) if you’re having trouble with the App. I mean come on - that doesn’t result in a response to resolve the problem because no one knows I need assistance. Further, when a first bought the car it had to go back to the dealership twice and stay there for several days while they waited for Jaguar support engineers to figure it out. Sometimes if you delete the App entirely and download it again it will work. I live in Minnesota so using the remote start is important in cold weather but it rarely works so I usually don’t even try. It’s a little embarrassing at work to watch co-workers just hit remote start on their key fob on “lessor” cars and it always works but I’m working on just getting my app to even open or I’m having to be the IT troubleshooter. Oh- don’t waste your time calling Jaguar support. You’re on hold forever only to be told to take it to the dealership. The App really spoils all the great things about the car itself. Jaguar would have been better off in my opinion by not even offering the technology than offering it as a selling point when it’s a rare occasion when it actually works. That negatively impacts the overall impression of the rest of the car. Trying to use the App is more trouble than it’s worth.

Follow-up Review

WrongWayWaldow

Figured I would follow-up hoping that the developers are actually reading everyone’s feedback. The latest update actually worked so I bumped the rating to two stars. App is still way slow but I have been using it for about a month with no errors. Developers thanks for fixing it. Only issue I have now is that for some reason with this latest update I lost the ability to see text messages on my car display. Coincidence? Maybe. Odd that I lost it the day after installing the latest revision. BTW. I have a 2016 XF Premium and iPhone 7plus.......just Incase a developer at Jag cares.

InControl Apple Watch app

InControl Apple Watch app shows European units only, it doesn’t show the US units.
