Needs Major Improvements!

Drains my battery and data compared to Redacted. Takes forever to load, full of glitches, and scanner screen is impossible to see in bright sunlight - even after the updates that were supposed to address this. Graphics are too flashy and distract from play. It isn’t much fun to play when you can’t actually “play” like Redacted.

What happened?

I used be a dedicated, multi-state Ingress player. Loved the game so much that I needed to take a break from it. Deleted app. A couple years later... friends just convinced me to try it again - but I can’t because of the new app. This app is full of bugs. Too many to list. It is laggy, graphically overcooked, and UI is confusing. The app or its functions freeze on my iPhone 8 that the game is unplayable. Developers tried to make this app too fancy. Lost sight of basics. Now it is broken. Ingress was a groundbreaking game. I thought it would, sadly, fade away as newer AR games gained popularity. Now, unless something changes quickly, it seems a dysfunctional app will accelerate the end of Ingress.

Laggy and unintuitive

The app lags like crazy the animations after performing an in game action is ridiculously slow. The controls are not intuitive at all and it has ruined the game for those of us that have been playing for years. Niantic ignores their users that supported them before Pokémon go and are now going to take away redacted which is going to make a lot of long time users stop playing.

Sadly Niantic made some major mistakes with Prime, it’s simply unplayable for anyone who has been there to support them since the early years. Had they kept a similar style interface to things and didn’t go all ray trace nightmare from an 80’s neon dream we have now, it might actually be playable.

I’m lovin’ this UI rebuild! Haven’t played in a few years and the reworking is just the thing this game needed to be completed, by my opinion. Great game, 5 stars

This game is a nice game to play if you play pokemon go but want something slightly different. However. Be warned there are players who take this game way too seriously who have used the game to stalk or harass people into not playing the game. Niantic will do nothing about it if you try to report them. If you can avoid those people. It can be fun
