Best calendar app

Zdr6

Best calendar app!!! Only app to offer you to view your appt during monthly view. This is amazing when you think about it. We all need to plan out more than today or tomorrow. It’s a whole month. Adding things is easy. Download it! Syncs with all calendar services. Tasks are easy to add and they can also be viewed in a monthly view. They fix minor bugs. Just be a full time member and support them. Google and apple both garbage for views.

Where’s the search option???

Growing Tired of the Problems with this App…

TYH8

I’ve been using Informant since it first became available many many years ago. I keep using it mainly because it’s the only calendar app I’ve found that allows one to use a large collection of emoticons, emojis, and icons extensively in the various calendar views. However I’m getting really tired of the constant sync issues. It’s supposed to sync across multiple devices but 90% of the time that doesn’t work. My husband and I often double book because the appointments I put in don’t sync to his device and vice versa. Also, despite paying a monthly subscription fee, I constantly get locked out of syncing for supposed “terminated or lapsed subscription”. I have to select “Restore Purchases” and reset up the sync account several times a month. Then no matter what I do I end up with events duplicated 4-6 times. I tried to contact tech support through the app but it crashes every time I select the support option. The other irritating thing is the lack of skin tone variations for the people emoji. My family is brown skinned and it would be really nice to be able to pick a brown skin girl when putting in an appointment for my daughter. Years ago Informant did have some additional color choices but at some point they disappeared. I contacted support and was told emojis in different skin tones weren’t supported????? As soon as I find a suitable alternative I’m gone!

R.I.P.

Sad&mad

Update 8/04/21 Even though I don’t subscribe anymore I like the app and had hoped they could develop a decent widget as they had before. The current one does not display half your information. It is absolutely terrible. Every other app developer has been able to produce a great widget for OS14. It has been downhill since Alex left, I hope he is enjoying the money he made selling Informant. I would think it would hurt him to see what has become of his once great app but I guess the money makes up for it. Update 5/07/21 My subscription expires today at 11:49am. Unfortunately I will not renew. My decision was based on Informant being able to develop a Widget that at the very least had same features as previous version. The released is minimal at best and doesn’t show holidays or match what is in Informant. I am sad because Informant is the best calendar app made but since Alex left, I don’t feel the development is the same. This usually happens when an app is sold. I started with LifeTopix and they went out of business. Now after switching all my information over to Informant I don’t feel it is going in a positive direction. I will continue to follow on App Store should they get there act together but for now moving on to AnyPlan. It is not as robust but the developers are engaged, release updates often and respond quickly to customer needs and they gave a great Widget. So long for now. Update 3/24/21 in response to developers response below. All of us that paid $25 a year have been more than patient. Informant is one of the best calendar apps I have used. It a shame Alex sold the company to someone who just wants to make money and not develop the product. Please prove me wrong. I have already been using another calendar app, should nothing happens or comes out by the end of my subscription in May. They should extend our subscription for waiting this long and them not doing anything. Acquisition • Mar 21, 2017 Complete XRM, Inc. acquired Fanatic Software for an undisclosed amount. No new features or development since then.

How the mighty have fallen

When I first found this app over ten years ago I rated it 5/5. It was exactly what I wanted, did everything I needed, and worked well. Fast forward to a few years ago when they switched over to a subscription platform and I dropped it down to 4/5. It still did everything I wanted/needed but there were a few hiccups in transferring over my historical calendar and in keeping everything synced smoothly plus the pay to use functionality was annoying after I had already spent money to purchase the program initially. Sadly, today I’m now giving it 1/5. I’ve had several major issues in the last year that are barely addressed in a detached support thread. I’m not tech savvy or tech stupid but I no longer find this app convenient. Needless to say, I’m cancelling my subscription. I don’t have the ability to randomly lose my calendar and all it’s events and then wait for support to figure out why and help get them back.

Great app

SkillBuilder

One question...I have the free version on iOS. How do I search for historical calender entries? I can’t figure out how to adjust my settings to do so. Thanks!

I’m moving in to a new calendar application

I’ve been a customer for 10+ years. I don’t feel the subscription model is worth $25 per year. I know the developer does but I don’t. I recently had an interaction with their support that I am not happy with the outcome. This app rocked when it first came out but it seems the company’s philosophy has changed. I originally paid $5.99 then $15.99 and now that want $25 per year. I’d gladly pay it if I thought it was worth it. Peace.

Confused ???

PBinPR

Regarding what I said below: After I restarted my phone, the App reset and I had full use of all the features. —————- My expensive subscription payment was due this week and my Apple account paid it automatically, but when I went to open the Informant App, I discovered I’m locked out of everything but my calendar. What gives??? Is this what we get with new management???

Incredible customer service

QM2003

I seldom leave reviews, but on occasion feel the need. I've used Informant for around ten years. Over that time I've dabbled with alternatives a few times a year, with none giving me reason to switch. At first I didn't like subscriptions and of course I'd rather not have that expense. But with an app like Informant, I find it well worth supporting the developers and their efforts to update and offer exceptional support. Over the years the times I had questions or problems, they were answered or solved the same day I reached out for help. Great job, and thank you.

Lousy Customer Service - No Response

thinker,08

I’ve been having problems with syncing between devices and there is no response from customer service when I message them through the app. Also I don’t know whether my mapping problem has been fixed yet either. I’ve been trying to get these things fixed for several months and am getting no response despite repeated requests for help. What’s happening with maps is that it takes me to the street I’m looking for but never to the numbered address. Since streets in my state are really long, going from city to city, not being taken to the numbered address, is a huge problem. Reminders between devices do not sync.
