Love this app. Lots of info. Good pictures and photos. Like that it has both. Easy to use. Is always with me in the field. Would like it to have more female and juvenile pics. Overall is very useful.

Know before you buy

I've had this app less than 24 hours and although it is a good app for identification of birds by sight or sound I was very disappointed to discover some of the features require an additional purchase. For the price I paid the app should identify birds in my location but it doesn't...that's an add on $ feature. UPDATED COMMENT...Developer's comments supports my review.

Love it!

Great app for beginning birder. Love the Birds Around Me feature & the bird song player. Interfaces nicely with the Bird Journal app. So fun to finally know the names of the birds in my yard.

Don’t create a life list on this app!

Tinyowl

You will lose it!! Very very disappointed. I’ve had this app for a while and started my life list, updated to a new phone and software and lost everything. It’s supposed to link to my Dropbox. It’s in there but no program can read it!! Useles! Furthermore there are several birds that have been accepted by the ABA, but not included in the app. How can you make a list!

My go to electronic field guide

Stemstory

As a beginning birder, this app has been a lifesaver! The drawings and photos along with the descriptions and amazing search options have helped me identify new species. I have also enjoyed the favorites section where I collect bird species I have seen each month at my feeders as well as on birding outings. I highly recommend iBird.

Mitch Waite IBird App Limited

Those folks who possess an IPod operating system less than the the 10.1 requirements stipulated by by the IBird pro lose all ability to access the app info. Terrible! Bought the app to use, paid money and now with Apple/IBird taking an Apple 5th version with 9.1.3 are left high and dry....no usage at all. Either Apple or the Mitch group needs to resolve this to let users back accessing IBird Pro

Easy to use

I'm a beginning birder and this app is easy to use in the field or just around the house to learn about birds. The bird calls are great as are the multiple illustrations and descriptions of behavior and habitat. And it's lighter than a book to carry.
