I love the option to make the pinyin very faint or not to view it at all..great for learning to read characters. I would suggest making it possible to see flash cards with ALL the words that you’ve been through rather than just one lesson at a time. I feel that I can read characters within a single lesson, but I’d like to try to read a greater variety of characters in one practice. Makes learning Chinese fun!

This app is really good. Like you should download it now if you want to grasp the basics of Chinese. Although Chinese can be complicated, vocab and characters are the hardest parts, and Hello Chinese does a great job of training you on those concepts. Grammar is a little more sparse, but there are amazing little guides that point you in the right direction. For an app, I can’t recommend a better way to teach Chinese Bonus: I am also learning French! Since my phone is in French, it helps that the app is localized to French. So when I train my Chinese, everything is in French! Double practice!
Better than duolingo

I started learning mandarin using duolingo, but quickly got frustrated at its lack of explanation of simple things like grammar rules. This app is much better and I'm surprised at how much I've learned so far!! My friend who lives in China says all the foreigners she knows who live there also use this app to learn.

I have tried several different language apps and this is by far the best! It’s like a combination of Duolingo, Memerise, and Drops all rolled into one!! I hope they will make other languages! I highly recommend this app!!
