This app is a complete waste of time. You have to constantly back out and restart. It freezes constantly. I’ll use my dvr to record what I want to watch instead of this


Cannot Play Video.. Ever

I have never had success playing a movie, show, even a freaking trailer on the mobile app. It gives me an error message every.single.time. saying it Cannot Play Video and advises me to check my internet connection. Doesn't matter if I'm on LTE or connected to a Fios internet connection. I've been on a private network, a VPN, an open network.. nothing. Zero issues playing from the full website from a computer connected to the same internet connection though. My phone software is up to date as is the app version. Never worked on my 7+ and I thought just maybe I'd have some luck on my XR.. nope. I'm at a loss. Would love an app from HBO that is designed well with real functionality. Have yet to see it but maybe one day Developers. Thanks for the entirely unhelpful response.. I already tried all the troubleshooting steps, which was stated above. I exhaust all troubleshooting options prior to writing reviews. I, as well as many other subscribers, have already tried all the troubleshooting steps and are frustrated, hence your 2.2 star rating.

This was ordered erroneously on 7/25! I can not get ANY help to get my $ back and stop the “subscription.” I won’t ever use it and had no idea there was a charge until it showed up on my bank account! Please help me get rid of this!!! There was a 1-866# and I called it. There was a prerecorded message and no way to speak to a human being. HELP!

Basically, this app is useless. It worked for a day after I first set it up. But then, if you log out or try to set up the app on a new device, it repeatedly says “something went wrong”. If I try to click on “forgot password”, if gives me another error message with an error code. When I click OK, it loads the AT&T logo, but keeps glitching and trying to reload. I give up. I’m not the only one having issues with this app. I tried to Google how to fix the problem, but I only found more complaints. Even calling customer service gets me nowhere because they don’t know what’s wrong, let alone how to fix it. Their solution was to watch HBO through the AT&TWatchTV app.

Using an IPhone. Hard to believe a major media company could have an app so terrible in 2019. Why aren’t documentary types categorized? And why does each title take up 2/3 of the screen when scrolling? And about 20 other issues. Go use the Amazon streaming app for an idea of what an intelligent UI looks like.

I attempted to utilize the app on my iPad multiple times which always says “Something went wrong” as if I did not know that the other 50 times I tried. I followed all of the steps to resolve the issue that was available via the HBO website with no luck. The instructions stated to contact my provider if the issue was not resolved. I contacted my provider and was informed the issue was being escalated, and I was advised to allow a few hours to pass before I attempt to log in. Of course, I made the attempt after three hours and nothing. I contacted HBO and of course I was told to contact the provider again. Why. Must. You. Torture. Me?

You’ve gotta be hooked to the web to watch, unable to download movies (like watching a movie in a flight). Plus, you don’t get any descriptions or anything. Severely lacks features. But.....it’s fine.


Crummy app, amazing programming

Blech... It is barely tolerable to have to wade through such an unpleasant user experience in order to watch my favorite programming through this dreadful app. On a brand new iPad in high speed internet, it’s sloppy and glitchy. Screens hang on transitions and videos drop out to “video could not be loaded” messages halfway through watching a program. After a transition to a new page, the moving banner at the top instantly jumps away upon page load, so when you see something loading and go to tap it, it inevitably skips to the next item right as you go to hit it. It’s fiiiine, but boy is there room for UI improvement.

On iPhone need to delete app and install again every week. Keeps crashing. Very poor application development team behind this.
