Hangouts is better

I can’t BELIEVE they got rid of hangouts. It was much easier to use and less complicated and all my chat rooms that I just used were right at the top. Now it’s very inconvenient. This is the only way I can talk distantly to most of my friends and now it just got so much more complicated and irritating. PLEASE REVIVE HANGOUTS Very Unhappy Person who uses ur stuff ?

Google what the actual heck?!?!!?? Hangouts was AMAZING!! Why did you give us this trash? It’s a Discord rip off. It’s garbage and everyone I have talked to hates it. Hangouts was simple and made sense. This doesn’t. I hate it and I think you messed up google. Please bring hangouts back or at least let people choose which one they use. Google Chat is terrible. There are also too many little tabs and things to accidentally click on and you can’t tell when someone is typing. The prewritten replies are terrible too, let people use their own brains and have their own conversations instead of making convos too organized and dead.

Hi, I am really upset about google hangouts getting taken away. I don’t think a lot of us got any warning about this. I was literally talking to me friend using google hangouts this morning then all of a sudden the messages couldn’t send. I feel like some announcement should have been made, also I am a little upset that we can’t see our previous messages anymore. I really liked google hangouts and I am having issues with this new one. I cant add my google account, it goes through but when I look at the accounts it still isn’t there. Any tips?

Google Hangouts is a much better app and worked better than this chat app and web interface. Not really sure why Google is planning to kill Hangouts.

Since google hangout is going away in 2021, I switched over to google chat, really not loving that I can’t switch backing forth between 2 gmail accounts without logging out first. That was a huge perk of google hangouts. Also seems so odd that there is google voice and google meet, why doesn’t that all live on one platform? That seems a little backwards in the app world.

wheres the servers i was in? i was perfectly happy in an lgbt server but now its all gone. this discord update is horrible.
Seems promising, but lacks basic features

Google Chat works for most of the teams out there. However, it lacks some basic features that can make you frustrated, for example: 1 - You must enable the threaded replies or not. If you choose to not enable it, you will never be able to reply to a message. Never! 2 - You must allow people outside your organization to join a room or not. After your choice, you will never be able to change this setting again. Never! 3 - Here they’re bringing the same issue that thousands of people complain about since Hangouts era: If you have created a room accidentally, or just wish to get rid of a room, it will not be possible to you to delete it. You can leave a room, but never delete it. Never! 3 - You can’t add a room's description/topic. 4 - There is no way to pin a message. 5 - There is no way to favorite a message. In short, this service is very mature when compared to its competitors.
