No way to remove or delete yourself from a group chat

I have to use chat for school and when kids make huge chats with 200 something people you can not remove yourself from the chat if there is a what to please help I’m going insane

As usual with Google another half big scheme as of late… Googles really been dropping the ball the last I would say year or two all their services are getting worse and out of hand everything from Google photos to YouTube… And now this new Google chat… Which I think could actually be promising if they ironed out some of the extra steps necessary for simple things… So far the biggest complaint I have about this at this there’s no way to select multiple any things… I can’t go to my chat requests and highlights several and delete I have to do them one at a time by opening the conversation choosing to ignore and then choosing whether to delete it… There should be a way to select multiples just like in Gmail… There should also be a clear all button for both active conversation thread since you’re finished with and check requests that are usually spam and you don’t want anyway… Maybe four years from now Google at those features will see

So, this app WAS helpful, but then about 3 months ago it stopped because it always says “No Connection” every single time I get in and I can’t message people anymore! Fix it!

9 months ago Serbia got iOS AppStore and google still did not enable neither Chat nor other basic google apps. Please enable them for Serbia - YouTube, google photos, google app, ... and more than 20 apps that should be available on iOS AppStore for Serbia but are not

ipadOS multitasking and split screens?

I don’t typically think of a chat app needing to take up the entire screen (especily on a large tablet device) like an iPad. So a handy feature is having the ability to split screen or float chat on another program so you can multi task. Get some work done and easily reply with out doing a full context switch. I understand google does not seam to value or prioritize chat. But since its here i would like to see features to make it more useable.

Better Spacing

There is no spacing difference if a user send 2+ messages right after another and it ends up looking like a poorly formatted email from some boomer. For reference, each sequential message had previously been its own chat bubble, which separated the ideas. I’m not saying chat bubbles need to return, but I’m saying their new solution makes it difficult to read. Yes, it can be solved by the user writing a clear message in the first place, but that’s an excuse for a poor user interface.
