Stopped working entirely

With iOS 11 all the core functionality has stopped working. When I start smartlink, it shows as attached to my BMW Nav but the media player app only works in Bluetooth mode now not iPhone mode where you got meta data and album art. And the traffic overlay doesn’t work at all. Might as well not even fire up the app!

After updating to ios 11 the bluetooth connection drops constantly , with my iphone 6 and 8.

The interface is horrible. Map density icons all look identical with the exception of the red boardered ones. There's no way of knowing the average speeds without selecting it. The legend is a joke. Traffic does not automatically refresh. There is no pull down to refresh and no background refresh functionality. In order for things to update, you must go BACK and then have the traffic refresh. In otherwords, there is no update and sync coordination between the GPS, smartphone, and smartlink. You must manually update. The Garmin GPS always looks for the link after disconnected even though it's connected to traffic receiver. App has potential but like Garmin support it fails on so many levels. One would think with standalone GPS use declining Garmin would try to ensure they're outstanding at every level. But no, even Garmin customer service is becoming very poor with incomplete or inaccurate information. I feel Garmin's days are numbered...they will likely abandon consumer GPS and focus on marine and other commercial markets.

I have to be honest here. This app is worthless. Which makes my standalone Garmin worthless as well. I thought by having this app+unit I could free my phone from being used as a navigation device. The app won’t find most addresses, and when it does, it develops absurd routes that are up to half an hour longer than usual. I wouldn’t even give it 1 Star. Done with it.

Won’t connect or constantly disconnects

With the update of IOS 11 the app now longer works, as the title says it either won’t connect or constantly disconnects from my garmin Nuvicam.

As a network engineer and app development team member I can clearly say these apps are worthless. "Fails to connect" 1 in every two times you try to use it. Super slow traffic. I get much better results from just using HD traffic. Weather is little use since it rarely functions. HD weather works better. Radar is slow but that would be tolerable if it worked better than half the time. I wish I could Smartphone Link my $5 back. Garmin should be ashamed.

This is like a gf that won't hold hands. Its nice but lacking. This is a tool that helps but its the only option. I have never seen an app that freezes so often. There absolutely should be a way to share to here from maps. SeRching option through saves would be great. A very basic app for a great GPS. Bad pairing

Four square limitations

Four square needs to be able to set a location any where in addition to only nearby places. Makes it very limited unless you only use gps for local destinations.

The iPhone 6s with OS ver 11.0.3 provided by my work will no longer stay connected, for apps like traffic, to my Zumo 590. Pandora still works. Anything that uses this app is a fail.
