Good when it works

I just bought a Garmin DriveSmart 60 for my trip. At every stop after turning the car off the app and Garmin do not reconnect. The smart notifications connect but the smart link does not. I have to repair everything if I want to continue to get traffic updates. May return this device all together as that ruins its use for me.

Time and again trying to connect via Bluetooth to use tracking and traffic my Garmin and iPhone - all with latest updates- fail to link.

I had a TomTom portable GPS for years but got to the point I needed to update to the latest technology, I did some research and from what I could see Garmin was the way to go. A big reason I use a GPS is for the live traffic updates and in order to receive them I have to sync my iPhone/Garmin Smart Link app to the GPS device, the problem is it constantly unpairs itself and now the two will not “find” each other. It has basically rendered the devise unusable. Garmin’s answer was to sell me a $70 power cord with a built in traffic receiver. Not exactly what I signed on for, VERY disappointed!!!

Well after the last 2 updates the app will no longer connect, have tried uninstalling and un-pairing/re-pairing several times but nothing. I've used the app for the last few years on different phones and on my iPhone 8 without any problems, they may have fixed other problems but have created new ones. Hopefully it gets fixed quickly.

I have this Harmon device for over a year and also had my phone for 2 years now - meaning same phone and same device - and had to reinstall the app countless times. You never know when the BT will connect to the phone or not ... it’s ridiculous that you buy a device with specific connectivity and that doesn’t work. Thumbs down for garmin ... next GPS will be a Magellan ... very frustrating.

I installed this app. on my iPhone and has not work with my Garmin 51. I have had two devices not work with app, if there is an update needed it stops working. Just had to replace my Garmin 51 after less than year because it stopped working. New device, same issues, except this time it will not recognize the app. Do not download!

The only way to get traffic updates on my garmin gps device is to use this app. I am using this with iPhone 6 and most of the time it doesn’t connect with the GPS device even though my Bluetooth connection is fine. It is completely useless app.

Not delivering promised functionality.

As said by the other reviewers, the latest update does nothing. The GPS will not stay connected to the iPhone. Which means the GPS does not deliver advertised functionality.
