No iMessage support and no Apple Pay

Two things that should’ve been added a long time ago. This app used to be the best until Fandango purchases you guys! Now there’s never any updates, no improvements and lacking basic features.

Freezes too often

Used to be a great app, but now unreliable

Once excellent. Now worthless.

I’m not sure what happened, but over the last year or two, the quality of this app disintegrated. You used to be able to see complete information, synopses and reviews of past, current and upcoming movies along with reliable theater information. Now - if a new or upcoming movie even appears, there is the flimsiest of summaries and one sentence reviews. Theaters in my city of over 100,000 aren’t even listed. It is a shame.

Surprised at such bad reviews

But then again I suppose it depends on how you use it. Some features might be 1-star horrible and others 5-star great. The only thing I use it for is to see what’s playing at the local theaters and the showtimes. The reason I like this app best is when you tap the theater it shows the list of movies playing and the Rotten Tomatoes and user score right there to see. And if you then tap the movie you can then read the aggregated and reviews just like you can on the Rotten Tomatoes website. You can also play the movie preview. The other apps have these features too but you have to dig deeper to find them (e.g. in the Fandango app you have to individually tap each movie before it will show the scores). Apparently there’s something horrible about this app, but for my use it’s a 5-star app.

Suspect review tampering

ChrisA2016

Rotten Tomatoes was a favorite website of mine several years ago. You could always rely on it to give you good information about whether a movie was worth going to or not. Recently, I feel they have been tampering with reviews. It started with professional reviews but now it looks like they are tailoring peoples reviews to help specific movies look better than they are. Not sure if they are being paid or pressured, but leaving reviews alone is what I came for and why I will need to now look for a responsible review aggregator. When companies like these stop advocating for the normal guy and instead support corporate cronies I’m out.

Great for finding movies, theaters, times

JulieT65

I use the app mainly to find out which movies are playing in each of my local movie theaters, and what time they are showing. It’s easy to use and provides all of the information I need.

This used to be the best movie app. Now it’s just frustratingly bad.
