Water heater repair

My water heater failed the day before I left for a road trip. I was going to have houseguests, including a baby, a few days after I returned home. I was able to schedule a repair call and have my water heater fixed before my guests arrived. It was such a relief!

Response times are slow. They do not respond to voice mails or emails within days (if at all). They misdiagnosed my plumbing issue several times, even though it was just a leaking sink. They denied coverage for various reasons (none were applicable in my situation) often related to their misdiagnosis. Regarding plumbing issues, they have done a poor job.


Appointment time window given day before

you don't really want a 1 star

I do not like scheduling when I cannot negotiate a time. We can only do the first option in a morning so if you have to come at another time, we most likely have to cancel and I won’t know until the day before the appointment??

Plumbing problem fixed.

Joseph was able to figure out a drain problem I was having with the washing machine. Very unique problem and he didn’t give up until it was solved. Cleaned up after very polite and good advice on things I should update since I just moved in to a new house.


Poor Plumbing inspection

Our first experience with Fixd was far from satisfactory. We suspected a potential pipe leak under our living room floorboards next to kitchen sink area. We noticed some water coming out of the board gaps and boards were getting swollen. When we called Fixd, earliest appointment was 3 days later and we kept it the water main valve off as much as we can. When the Fixd plumber arrived, he did not have proper equipment (earphone set for listening under the floor to find leak location, etc.) and suggested to start breaking the kitchen sink area drywalls to search for a leak or alternatively make another visit with the earphone device. We preferred another visit with proper equipment to minimize any investigative damage but at his next visit 3 days later, he still did not have it and his excuse was they have only one equipment and his boss is using it somewhere else and suggested breaking the walls again. We reminded he was supposed to visit with the device and that we won’t allow random breaking of walls to look for a leak. He said he will call again for arrangement once he has it but never called again. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend for emergency situations. I won’t be using them again.

Just another company that takes your money and doesn’t provide the services that they sell you on pretty straightforward they take your money and then make you work really hard to try and get them to actually fix things.

Communication is lacking and appointments are not as easy to schedule as assured to us when researching different home warranty companies. If this doesn’t improve, and if irrigation doesn’t get added in 2019 as we were led to believe, we will be looking elsewhere next year.

We have been using fixd for 2 years, everything from faucet replacements to garbage disposal breaking to needing new HVAC parts. Every time they exceed my expectations. Each technician/plumber is friendly and quick. Great customer service as well. Thanks Fixd!


They will schedule you for the wrong dates

My service required calling the main Fixd service line to set up an appointment. After specifically requesting a date (more than 10 days in advance) and being told I would see the confirmation come through 48 hours prior, I was given the WRONG date of service. I missed work because of this. Upon realizing this on the day of my expected service, I gave Fixd a call again and much to my dismay the only explanation I was given by Fixd was that they “could not fulfill my initial request” so gave me the next soonest appointment a day later. Now I have to miss another day of work to wait around for another appointment that they are still not showing has been rescheduled for the correct date requested.
