Scam if you spend money

Madmonkeman

First I’ll ignore the competitive element of this and describe what it’s like strictly as an empire building game. As soon as you get this game it’s fine because things will only take a few minutes to upgrade and research. Then as expected once you get to a certain level things will take a few hours to upgrade and research, which is fine because you can hop on during the day, upgrade something, then hop on at the end of the day and it’s finished. If this was the case then it probably wouldn’t be too bad. However, once you get to around lvl 30 things will take several days to upgrade which loses a lot of the fun elements to the game. However, it’s not that hard to get gold so you can speed things up easily but it still loses the excitement it had before. Then you’ll get to the point where you will need “building blueprints” and “research scrolls” on top of the resources and things will then take over 30 days to upgrade. No one is going to wait 30 days for something to upgrade so you’ll have to use your gold. Now the only way to get these “building blueprints” and “research scrolls” is to either spend real money or to wait for an event to give you “building expansion blueprints” so you can build a district so you can automatically generate the blueprints and scrolls. Luckily I was able to build a district through an event and get the district fully upgraded. And then what will happen is you’ll upgrade some more and instead of it being the “royal research scrolls” and “royal building blueprints” it will require “exalted building blueprints” and “exalted research tomes” which your district generates even less of and instead of using gold to buy resources and speed ups it will be platinum. And then it keeps going like this where you’ll reach a certain level and it’ll change the currency you need but you won’t be able to generate as much. Right now I’m lvl 52 where things require “divine building blueprints” and “divine research tomes” aside from the hero, economics, crafting, and advanced combat sections which require different things that I have no way of generating and I know the next section is going to require “majestic building blueprints” and “majestic research tomes” which my fully upgraded district will not produce so I really have no way of getting these without spending money other than relying on random events that the game devs will set which might have these but it’ll be rare. So here’s what happens if this awful system drives you crazy and eventually makes you cave and spend money. You’ll purchase a pack or a building and you might not actually get everything you payed for (this happened to several people in my guild) or you’ll buy a building and realize that it needs it’s own resources and building blueprints in order to actually use it (I got lucky and was able to get some buildings in-game) or you’ll spend money to get the best troops only to receive an update which adds new troops that your troops will have no match for essentially making your purchases worthless. A good example of this is the dark world update which added “dark troops” making the tier 1 dark troops (dark rangers which is surprisingly available for new players) more powerful than the highest troops in the game before that update. The dark world update also added new research tabs that require scrolls you can’t generate in-game so you’ll never have the main dark troops that you need and most research in those tabs won’t be available. A guild mate also told me that it takes over 3000 days to upgrade to lvl 100. If you don’t spend money you’ll never have a chance at competing, and if you pay you’ll either be straight up scammed or an update will come out that will make your purchases worthless.

Bad and greedy strategist working at this developer

shaner541

I agree that this game is expensive. They recently advertised a new instant level for all the hero’s in their 99$ bundle. Well there’s a problem it doesn’t work, but it will eventually. This is what they tell me at least. Talk about unethical, unscrupulous and really bad if anyone important like a class action attorney is trolling app reviews for a meal ticket. And with all the players affected not only by this misdeed, but several others, then guess what makers of final fantasy enjoy the expensive lawsuit. Treat your players(customers) better. Lower your bundle prices with out deflating the value, and don’t inflate costs to upgrade or level. It’s total bull crap!

Pay to Win

RJKGAMER

If you’re not willing to spend several hundred dollars, save your money. Has great potential but after a short while the big spenders in each realm find each other and everyone else gets rolled over. No checks and balances in place to level game play. Instead, they just open a new realm when others die or combine. So much wasted potential due to greed.

Great for while

This game had really good game play and certainly showed maturity in design as based on devs other apps. The problems came as they moved to rapid release of new features to drive sales. Now the game is getting more and more bugs. They have a bug now that makes attacking very problematic, as it lags when try to do it, leaving you open to getting hit. For a war game, critical flaw, have tried to work with support to fix for over a month, no fix yet. Despite bugs they still keep adding features that are introducing even more bugs.

It’s getting worse

Developers keep adding features that you will need to pay for $100 if you ever want to play the game as intended, a war game. Otherwise it is a presmartphone era FarmVille that gets destroyed every so often and you need to start over again. They never implement game mechanics that improves the user experience, but adds UI updates that hinders the players by creating waste through obstructing information. Support staff uses cut and paste response that has no variety, no helpful suggestions, or just is not applicable to the situation they were contacted about. If you find a faulty mechanic or suspect manipulation, at least they will try to bribe with in game items. Packs are switch and bait, many in game events that have useful rewards are Pay to Play models, others are Pay to Win for those players who have very limited time to play. If you are a Free to Play player, this is a fancy chat room. Additionally, events that are supposed to help grow will become a progression blocker for other events. Developers frequently provide events that hinders each other to make it impossible to complete both, you must choose, provided you can even participate in the events in the first place.

Possible Fraud Definitely Price Gouging.

The game is great, the people in the game are mostly great. The people who charge you for playing their game are not great. I believe them to be utilizing poor business practices and in some circumstances committing false advertisement and definitely price gouging. They say it is free play, and sure you could play for free if a. You plan to only play as long as you have bubbles b. You don’t actually want to participate in the war aspect of the game by attacking and rallying other people who are bigger than a gnat or c. Enjoy having everything you build and make be continuously destroyed by bigger players who do by packs. The App Store says that packs start out at $1.99. I have never in the two and a half months and three accounts abs three guilds I’ve been in seen any packs ever offered for that low of a price. If anyone knows how to get them please let me know. First packs you can get are $4.99. As soon as you get 1 then the price immediately goes up to $19.99. As soon as you get 1 at $19.99 then the price immediately goes up again to $49.99 for some packs but most are $99.99. If you by either of those price points your packs are always $99.99. Occasionally they will have sales of $29.99. Very rarely they will pick out a few people who have not spent money in a while and offer them a sale at $29.99 or $49.99. I was on with three accounts open in front of me when a pack went up. Same pack on my main account it was $99.99 on my hubbys account my second account it was $99.99 on an account a friend had left it case up $4.99. Got it for the friends account. Never was offered for $4.99 on other two. I complained. I have complained before. If you complain they will never send you another sale lest than $99.99 again. Others get sales, I do not get sales. Now they say they offered it to everyone. Which I have prior they did not. Be careful of game. They are possible fraud and definitely price gouging. Someone needs to start a class action against them for poor business practices.

Biggest rip off ever

mike melvin

This people who make this game are the most money hungry rip off artist ever. They offer you packs that are not what they show you and god forbid you have to get help from customer service definitely not happy with this game wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy

Scam beware

kirk knoght

I have spent a lot of money on this game. I had an issue with a pack giving me the contents and after contacting support about 10 times nothing was done it has been days. They only want your money and will not help after you have payed if there are complications. Do not spend any money in this game they will scam you and try to make it your fault.

Empty your bank account

OR Honeybadger

This game is endless money pit. Unless you want to empty your bank account. Customer service of Epic is horrible unless you spend over $ 100,000.
